I think Grant has a thing for Christina

Personally I think Grant is behind it, but not for the reasons everyone thinks. I think he wants Christina all for himself because he is secretly in love with her. If he thinks he has a shot with her, he won't put up the ransom, but if he realizes she really does love Andrew, he'll put up the ransom, take credit for the whole thing cuz it will make him look brilliant, yet he's too stupid to realize that it won't matter how brilliant he is cuz he's going to jail.
