Television in Sherrif's office

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet...

When Jim is in the Sherrif's office after his experience at the tatoo artist's place, the Sherrif walks out from behind the counter and turns the television so it's pointing more towards Jim. This harkens back to the "television" reference from the last episode...

Two scenarios come to mind from previous specs on argn:

1. The TV as a surveillance mechanism: "They" are watching the residents of Push through small cameras/mics mounted in the televisions.

2. The TV as a brainwashing device: "They" are controlling the population of Push through the television (subliminal messages? some new brainwashing technology?)

Just thought I throw that out there. Probably more of a "plot" clue than a "game" clue tho...

Hmmm, plus doesn't he say something like: 'Boy you have no idea what I watch on television.'

What was that about?

Another thing I noticed about this exchange. They are watching morning shows in the sheriff's office but when Jim walks out and talks on his cell phone Grace says "Good Afternoon Mr. Prufock."
Mistake or intentional?

everything is intentional ;-)

I was wondering myself whether Regis somehow got himself an afternoon gig on local Push television.

Was it the color on my set or was the TV in the sheriffs office slightly orange in color?

And what was the peyote reference made by the sheriff? Could they be drugging the residents??

The sheriff knows that the tattoo artist gives his customers peyote to ease the pain, so he is stressing the "drug user" aspect to lower Jim's credibility.

I know this is somewhat unreleated, but do you suppose that dawn and the sheriff are "involved?" Ewww. Don't you think that's a bit of a conflict of interest? But then again, they have some other ethical problems ...
