okay
maybe

You may not go to Applebees, or throw away the coupon or whatever. Not everyone will. Is there a way to figure out how many times the name Applebees came up in ALL of these threads?

What more can I say?

Also, seeing how all the characters love Applebee's so much and they all have half-a-brain cell between them, I'd be afraid that the food might be the cause of it.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Deep Focus was in fact paid with free Applebee's food. That would certainly explain a lot.

i totally agree!!!

Applebee's New Contest

For the record, I agree with it being Grant and Cherry St. Now if I can just spell it all correctly.....

Also, I just tripped over this and hope someone besides me will find it hysterically funny. Applebee's launched a new contest today! It's the "Big Burger Showdown" and runs from today through July 15. Emter by submitting your original hamburger recipes. The grand prize is $5,000 and your burger being added to their menu. Does anyone else find this funny?! I WANT TO SUBMIT A GRANT BURGER! Made with a cherry on top, a side of gunpowder and served on a leather briefcase.

If what we win turns out to be a 'buy one, get one free' coupon from Applebees, maybe be we could talk Suzuki into giving them out too....

Anyway, this has been great fun, in here at least. My first ARG. Must look for another one. Good luck to everyone. Thanks for the friendship and brain power. C ya tomorrow when we rehash the answers.

Cass

If yall don't shut up....

I'm gonna go out of my mind. Besides, Max is already off balance. He's liable to bust a spring. LOL That's from a Sling Blade clip......no offense. Wink
I've enjoyed this until today. Can't believe I've wasted 8 days of my life on it though! Whoever came up with and planned this game was a complete moron. I was looking for something along the lines of Forensic Files. This is more like a bad Scooby Doo cartoon. Razz

Second guesses

Second-Guessing wrote:
I'm not sure if we actually get two chances to submit the correct answer. After submitting for the first time it says that if you feel that you made a mistake you can "resubmit" your answer. Does that mean the second submission replaces the first?

What if you submitted the correct answer the first time? Does submitting a second guess replace the first?

With all the Deep Focus screw-ups, my guess is that TXVisitor is correct in that we will all just get a coupon for Applebee's, regardless if we submitted the right answer or not.

This is my response from Christina:
Your answer has been submitted. If you believe you made a mistake, you may resubmit one time. If you are okay with your submitted answer, you are done. You will be contacted if you are a winner. Come back to the website tomorrow to find out what happens to Andrew!

I am not going to make a second guess, if I'm right I get to share $25,000 with about 45,000 people.
If I'm wrong, it really doesn't matter.
I met some great people and I will continue to be a regular here.
You guys are great.
I cannot believe how many hits I got on my own blog, 3,950 hits today!
And all I did was write a few posts about this silly investigation.
So I am pretty sure I will have to share my prize money with at least 4,000 other people hahah
Now, I really need a nap.....
luv ya

DO IT!!I would so love to see that on their menu.
But wait.......that won't happen. because AppleBee's sucks and I don't go there. But it would still be SO funny!
You should do it!!

Okay, now I am going for that nap.

Too funny, and despite the 8 days, we're all still here, although I'm sure SpaceBass is having a meltdown over the contested traffic. (see Akarm products page: "REGOUB - The day has come when dry congestion applies only to traffic." Too bad they don't have a quick fix for this jam!)

-The true contest should have been a memory test - we all would have won that, too. Everyone knows sooooo much about each and every clue (and non-clue) webpage, video, person, place, thing, drug..........

But in all actuality, we don't know curry!

 Speaking of Marketing...
I wonder how many people did what I did?

I created an email address just for this promotion and signed up with that, then when the 2 weeks are up and the promotion is over, I will delete it... Save me from Spamming Good in the Neighborhood LOL

You know - years ago when I worked in Corporate America as an IT Director, I was given "X" amount to hire a new person to assist. There was a BIG reprogramming deal going on but this guy could not work on it because he didn't have the experience to. When the President and General Manager called a meeting and I was asked why the new guy could not assist with that part of things, in open air I calmly explained: "Because you only wanted to PAY for a clerk, so that is what you got." (would anyone be surprised that within a month I was laid off after years because they suddenly could not afford me? LMAO)

Anyway - the point being...

Applebee's/CourtTV/Suzuki - whomever -- obviously did not want to pay for a real gaming design group so they went with Deep Focus who essentially was "a clerk" so-to-speak --- it's truly not that surprising that things went as they did.... Granted even I gave them too much credit initially, but I can see clearly now, the rain is gone....

Wow I finally made it back!

I have been trying for the past 10 hours on and off to log back on to this site since I got thrown out due to the overload of traffic on this site Evil or Very Mad . I am concluding that half the USA has been lurking anonymously on this site today in order to get the final answer. Sheeesh!!! Rolling Eyes I did notice I'm not the only one that is having problems. I was able to log on periodically and noticed there were very few posts done since my last entry so I feel better knowing it was not just on my side.
Anyway I submitted my answers this morning as I stated on p83 or 84 (just before I got knocked off by the server). I won't be surprised if this post doesn't post due to the stress on the server. Well good luck to everyone. I had fun. I'll try to hang in here as long as the server don't kick me out again.

No haters for Deep Focus!

I feel bad for deep focus (even tho I am entirely pissed at them all...) Can you believe how many heads are rolling? Especially after the WRONG fingerprints were up at 7:00 a.m. this morning? You may be right about the pay, and they did what they could for what they got. So maybe it wasn't entirely their fault - The clerk may be able to do the job if they're given funds for the resources they need to complete it.

I can just *imagine* all the boot scootin', and hollerin' going on at corporate offices all over. I'd just hate to see Deep Focus lose out because Applebees didn't want the cost of the contest to be high. A twenty-five thousand dollar prize is pretty cheap for all of America to share, to begin with. How could they not do some simple math and figure out that there are at the minimum five thousand geniuses living in each state in America? (And I know that I'm not one of 'em!) Especially if the clues were ment to be as straightforward as they were. (At least until the Curry thing.) When you think of it, that's probably what the CEO pays for his home mortgages every month.

I think they were over their heads in not realizing what people could, or would, accomplish on the internet. They should have done a test run in Unfiction.

I hope nobody loses their jobs over this, or that Deep Focus gets a bad rep. It was a fun game, albiet a dissapointing 8th day, no matter how much they've messed up. They did accomplish what was probably one of their goals - to keep us guessing.

P.S. Anybody who can afford to - and has been here for the last 8 days and enjoyed this - Unfiction Loves Donations! Personally, I'm a little short on cash but perhaps I'll trade in my Applebees coupon for it's one-one-hundredth of a cent value and donate that.

its like last night when we crashed HBO servers over the BS sopranos ending. that was lame and this is too, that puzzles were bad, the organization sucked and the content was poorly made. at least i hated applebees before all this, but i am gonna have a laugh at the fact theyre gonna have to pay 100k$ on postage alone to pay all of us our $0.25.
