L3

I think I need to say a few things and then I'd like to drop this subject.

I may have over reacted a bit in my post. Possibly "shill" was not the correct word to use. I was in contact with a player who asked me to post two things they found and claim them as mine because this player thought they would receive a lot of flack for posting these finds on their own, or at least that was the reason they gave me. After all the excitement died down yesterday I had time to think about what had happened. From things I'd read in IRC and the fortunate discoveries provided to me I came to the conclusion that the player was actually involved in the running of the game and I was being used to move things along. I'm not so sure about that today but I still have doubts. I would advise anyone who is approached by another player to post that player's finds as their own to "just say no". Most of you probably already know this. Now I do too. I'm sorry if I've muddled the game up. It really is a good game.

poking and prodding

i would have to agree with your post, dashcat, for this reason: i think that the private messages that were sent via the IRC chat interface left a lot out of the general realm of discussion.

i too was approached through a series of private messages through both the chat-sol and cd.org IRC servers by a particular player/creator/person. i would encourage, from now on, that the private messages stop, and that all info is kept in the public forum. this is not to say that people can't talk in hushed voices about the game between themselves, but if the creator(s) of the game is/are offering insider info or special messages through the private message function, it doesn't seem fair in regards to the other players. so, if you want to hint, please hint publically.

now, turning the other cheek, private instant messages through Yahoo messenger are perfectly acceptable, to me, as a means to clue in the players, as long as the players who are receiving these IMs are relating this information in the IRC chat rooms and/or the forums where the game is being discussed. this was acceptable practice in the LockJaw game, where personal communications between players and in-game characters was commonplace. this information was made public knowledge almost instantly, because the players understood that this info was not just for one or two players, but for the group.

and with that, i continue my crusade against the evil that is online christmas shopping.

SOLVED! L3: Loud and Clear

I don't know if this is the end of the second test, because it was really easy. Any way, I know this is the solve for Loud and Clear.

I just sent this off to lll_pllcSPLATyahoo.com:
-----------------------------
Here is the answer to part two: Loud and Clear

I know what youre thinking.
This is no Majestic.
I will need youre help someday.
Tell no one.
Report nothing. Jake.

Ps. I know that the second "youre" should be "your" but I am just deciphering what
was given to me.
---------------------------------

So, the grid simply represented letters, 1,1 being a, and 5,5 was y.
Following the source code, the answer jumped out without any problems. I know the
message says not to report anything Smile but I felt you guys should know the answer.

Not to be anal or anything, just some basic english FYI...

"Youre" would be "you're" which is a contraction of "you are" where as "your" shows and implies posession...

Therefore, the sentence is correct but should be read as:

I know what you're thinking.

You misunderstood me...
I was refering to "I will need youre help someday" which I believe is the second time the word 'youre' appears in the message.
Obviously, the text should read "I will need your help someday" and NOT "I will need you're help someday."

Now I'M the one who is sorry for being anal, but I've got to defend myself.

By the way, how do I look for hidden messages in the images? I know that the images from the first test had to be destegged. What program was used to do that?

Part two.....?
Where did we find Part Two?
Was it posted here?
Did I miss it somewhere, or is Part Two for the person who solved Part One?

For those confused about the start of test two:
http://profiles.yahoo.com/landau_luckman_lake
was updated with a new link.

I did get an e-mail telling me about the start of test two, but anyone who checked the yahoo profile could have found it also.
In fact, someone over at CD had posted the profile update before I had even seen it.

The Images

Does anyone think the images are important? I know the first one, the article about the Men In Black, is actually from the game Majestic. I don't know if this is important.
