it's a way to substute one digit for another. Trace across the center, and substitute the opposite digit.
0 === 0
1 <-> 9
2 <-> 8
3 <-> 7
4 <-> 6
5 === 5
(i have no idea what this is used for, i'm just explaning the graphic)

i thought that the "cross the 5" boxes might be a way to convert one telephone number into another one. I didn't try it...I was too busy trying to work out the rest of the mess. The content on August06.com was interesting, even though I have no clue what to make of it. I also read somewhere in the dossier an entry about "microscopic particles" - an obvious reference to what knocked out/killed the car theif in the last subplot. Weird stuff....
Is there a new one!????? None of the new Hire flicks have sub-plots....If there is a new game - someone let me know how to start.

The subplot films are only for the first season. I've made a guide to as much of the game as I've completed. http://www.unfiction.com/~tienle/K/kguide.html

Okay....the new game has begun, but I have no idea what to do. I called the number from Hostage and got a message that sent me to "Mothtothefllame.com"

I wrote to Ben at bmwfilms-hq (deciphernaut-hq) and asked him about mothtotheflame.com and he replied:

From: "bmwfilms-hq.com"
To: "Tien Le"
Subject: Re: bmwfilms season two
i've been there. i think it is just added info to the plot and an
attempt to drive more people to the sweepstakes subplot, which is
actually this years subplot. the phone numbers from last year's films
lead to the sweepstakes subplot too. they didn't last year.

And a little spec on my part...I read somewhere, or was told in chat that last season the 'game' had a phone number in it that directed people to a street corner where they were handing out DVDs of the first season's movies. I'm thinking that this year, meeting the man in the warm-up suit in front of the Stardust in Vegas and asking him for a fork will net a DVD of the second season's movies.

Cool! I wonder when this guy will be there. I'm staying at the Stardust hotel for the New Year's holidays.

And if we all give Steve our buttons and our secret codes, can he get us all DVDs?
PS, the films have been running periodically on the Speed channel on digital cable.

the 54558 on the package, could be a zip code? hey, i just found out that the number on mothintheflame.com, the 54558 matches the number on the image of the files on uncaptheride.com. i put it in on a zip code search engine, and turned up saint gerome, WI. could this mean anything? i just started this whole "game" thing, so im trying everything i know.

get an autoresponse email well, i just found out that if you send an email to DFensePetroffSPLAT bolt.com, you get an autoresponse back with a tracking number i suppose, and another number. butit says underneath the number "cross the five before you dial" thats what that crossing the five means, i guess.
