Looks like the countdown is marching toward 1:00am PST on the 14th, a time that has been designated for the last few video releases over Xbox Live Marketplace concerning Halo 3.

Was this confirmed? I don't recall seeing this on Bungie.

here is my b.net post stating everything that Adjutant Reflex has said, on both forums. and to go back to an earlier post, he never said that voi was irrelevant. read up on that thread. thats all the official info in a single place.

Re: compilation

I have to interpret "no specific significance" (as AdjutantReflex wrote) as "does not appear in this context". It has a significance to the HALO universe but seemingly not to AdjutantReflex' activities.

Never done an ARG before, but I'm thoroughly intrigued and wanna help if I can... I thought I would point out that there seem to be two distinct components to AR:

System integrity, which AR assures us in his first post is confirmed.
and Array integrity, which his profile tells us is "questionable".

This would imply to me that AR is a physical system for monitoring the integrity of the array, and the "System Integrity" refers to the software and hardware status of the AR AI.

Since AR is clearly seeking something, and the array is questionable, I would guess that array status is an important part of what AR is seeking.

Don't know if this helps, just thought I'd point it out.

Color me intrigued, and also a bit dusty.

Here's how I interpret "Array Integrity Questionable". The network of Halos have been referred to as an/the "array" from time to time. Installation 04, Alpha Halo, was destroyed in the first game. There's been much speculation over whether or not the Halos still have the ability to perform their task. The network's integrity has been compromised, and is therefore, questionable.

But it's taking place in the present day, when all the Halos in the Array are theoretically still in existence...

Maybe it is going to change something in the past to account for future events and make sure that with the loss of a few Halo installations, the system will still function as intended and be able to perform.
Time travel and such are not that farfetched, as Bungie has played heavily with these themes in their Marathon series and both Halo and Marathon are extremely similar in many aspects.

"X.XX.713> ghost.713/non-auth/activity ongoing"

Genesis 7:13
"On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark."

...

Tenuous, but feasible?

When Halo:CE started, the Flood had escaped their "Cages" on at least one of the Halos. The fact that AR is saying the ARray is unstable could mean that the flood had escaped from their cages at this point in time, 552 years before Halo:CE.

Backstory ftw

EDIT: Nice find troglodyte

This is a long-shot, but...

Maybe AR is testing the array and systems because this is the time that the Covenant is coming into its own as a great power, merging its many races into one giant religious conglomerate. The AR detects the Covenant as a threat to both other planets and the Halo system itself, as they could release the flood from their prisons.
AR is now gathering data on earth to attempt to contact those few willing to aid in using the ARC systems on earth to in turn signal the Halo system to destroy and repel the threat that the Covenant poses for the universe, beginning now and reaching its cusp during the events of the Halo series.
