If you also notice next to the glyph, the trim of the indent the glyph is on, the carved in craft work is darker than the rest of the craft work, and the way the shadows are being thrown in the render, that indented design should not be that dark.
It could be some kind of code strip, like that one message NASA sent into space on a satellite. (It is a vague memory, so sorry for no specifics.)

Yeah you are right, the glyph does look darker/sharper then the rest of the carvings. Not sure if it means anything or what we can do with it though

Filename of the image: 0613Halo3_forerunner_image.jpg

Any significance? (I know it's a simple thing and most likely not, but it's worth taking a look at)

The full path is: http://f.chtah.com/i/28/633883950/343Halo3_forerunner_image.jpg

Didn't find any data hidden in the image.

Well, the steganography post got me thinking about it. I am looking into it to see if there are any known cyphers or codes that look like that design.
It is not a uniform design down the side of that indent, so it could very well be a message. Very Happy

Image adjusted. We're being asked to look for the signs. Here's a pretty good glyph. Where else has anyone seen it?

The symbol in the background might be the same symbol but rotated. Upon further review this is not the same as the one in the e-mail.

The symbol shown does not appear in the list of Forerunner glyphs either.

When the ghost message was found in the Warthog mov file, I started looking around for connections. This symbol was the only thing that I found that was reoccuring in different locations. I know there is one other image that I found previously, which shows the symbol in greater detail. I'll continue to search until I find it.

My guess is that we are meant to locate the symbol elsewhere. The email is explicit. Look for the signs. It supplies us with one.

Here it is head on. 1337 Paint skills.

The glyph looks like it was added on later, as an afterthought, when the image is magnified.

The bright spots in the two corners of the image may just be:

1. The upper left corner spot is probably the edge of a window that is just barely visible due to the angle of the image.

2. The lower right corner spot is probably the edge of a floor inset holographic display/lighting that is again, just barely visible due to the angle of the image.

My darker indent idea is bunk. I grabbed the image into photoshop and pulled out that section and made it straight. It is just a repeated texture that looks pretty random at first glance.

The glyph does not look like it was added into the picture, as it matches the rest of that wall, a.k.a. aliased as hell when blown up. It is not much sharper than the rest of that wall it is on.

I really think we need to find out the place where this glyph is also seen. Everything points toward that.
And AR's use of bungie.net points to it being somewhere there. Since halo3.com seems purely commercial.

When magnified, I think I see a kind of overlap, especially so at the two points that I have circled in the attachment.

In the larger scheme of things though, I believe the others are right in assuming that we are expected to spot that glyph elsewhere, if at all.[/img]

You are right about the overlap, but the adherance to the texturing of the entire wall, even within the glyph shows that whoever made this, if the did add the glyph in later, did a decent job. It could be an in-game texture or altered, it is anybodys guess.
I am searching around for the glyph, as I am sure many others are as well. First one to find it somewhere else gets a new shield grenade!

Apologies for not clarifying earlier.

I was refering to the glyph being added "later" by the Forerunner themselves. They probably did not intend for that area to be used for that purpose, but were forced to do so, thus requiring them to mark it with the glyph. I am not sure if that holds any significance to the current mythos though, but figured I would put it out there.

Has anyone looked at the wallpaper "Emotion Portrait"? If you look close, there's a ton of symbols, and the iris's of the eyes look screwy, but I don't know enough to interpret it...

Does anyone remember the glyph that was used to Mark the Traitor(cinematic beginning of Halo 2), who later becomes the Arbiter?
