The question is, was that glyph in the reflection added by AR or some other entity to lead us in a particular direction, or are we meant to believe that that glyph is actually painted on the exterior of the device MC is looking at (the H3 announce trailer device)

In the case of the latter, maybe this is the symbol for "Ark"? Or at least the symbol for whatever the device under New Mombassa actually is.
But where to go from here?

As specified earlier, the glyph appears only in two images.

It does not appear in the Announcement Trailer hosted on halo3.com, neither on the back of the pronged fin nor on Master Chief's visor. It also does not appear on the screenshot in the same Media section, where the video is hosted.

It appears only on the visor of the Master Chief on the main page once halo3.com initially loads, and then again on the "Story so Far" page.

Has anyone tried stenography on the trailer screenshot?

Desolation looks pretty barren from what I can tell. There isn't much to investigate unless someone feels like getting on top of the level and such.

Has anyone thought of "Adjutant Reflex" being a name similar to "Guilty Spark" or "Penitent Tangent" (the monitor on Delta Halo)? AR's name isn't in the same pattern, Adjective-Noun, as the other two. Also, GS and PT relate in definitions, but maybe AR is some sort of reflection of them, a different sort of Forerunner AI.

I don't know.

Most interesting thought. I looked up Relfex, and it can be used as a Noun, so the adjective-noun theory still holds.

But, the verbal meaning of the combination does not match the overall naming convention as followed by the Forerunner for all Halo artefact monitors. This may signify that Arkie is indeed a different "breed" of monitor which may actually predate the Halo artefact monitors. The Forerunner were despondent in having to wipe the galaxy of sentient life so they named the Halo artefact monitors thusly, whereas, the Ark is supposed to be a "salvation"? So the Ark's monitor is named with positive(?) connotations.

Right, also, with the use of "Adjutant" in the name, it may point to some higher calling for this AI. An personal assistant or a higher ranked position.

Who all got emails, I think it would do us some good to figure out what all the people who got emails have in common. This could lead us to figuring out more of what the interface of this game could be.

On that note, i am SO mad i didnt get one.

EDIT: I forgot what i originally was posting about, and I just remembered

"Keepers of the flame"

Bees are yellow, honey is goldish, these could be allegorical to flames

Could the "beekeepers" be the keepers of the flame?

I know im taking a lot of leaps but you never know

So it wasn't an Xbox.com wide email?

another thing to keep in mind while looking for clues...

when ILB came was going on, "Web 2.0" wasn't around yet. so i suggest everyone remember to cross reference all your social bookmarking, blogging, IM, and whatever else you use on the net to communicate. all these online apps are free to use and can spread messages quickly.

del.iciu.us, facebook, twitter, digg, stumbleupon, etc...

I have an Xbox Live account and I didn't get it. My account is attached to Bungie.net and Xbox.com, so if it went to everybody somehow I didn't get mine.

So you're saying that perhaps he is the AI of the ark? He may hold more importance, or importance of a different kind than the monitors. It could be the "monitor" of the Ark, if the ark required such a thing. That makes sense.

As am I. And I did not get an email either. Unless this is limited to Gold subscribers, who play/don't play Halo 2 online, and/or were involved in the Halo 3 beta quite vocally.
