Just to wrap up the whole "Where'd .63 come from?"

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=11319464:

After doing a reverse whois on 206.16.223.65, it was found that all IPs in the range 206.16.223.0 - 206.16.223.255 are owned by Microsoft. So i started trying different IPs in that range, and so far, I have only found this one: Society of the Ancients (206.16.223.63). Discuss.

It says applications are reviewed on the first day of the new lunar cycle, which isn't until the 30th...

Did anyone try to run a stegdetect on the background image at .63? I believe there is something imbedded in the image. Upon opening the image in Notepad I found a link to www.iec.ch, alongwith a lot of gibberish apparently pointing to the fact that the image itself was heavily doctored by Photoshop CS2.

Any Photoshop whizzes out there?

So does this mean that the site was discovered through legit means (i.e. the way it was supposed to be revealed) or through a bit of impatience? Considering the fact that these sites never come up until the puppetmasters decide it's time, but also the fact that that elusive symbol is apparently nowhere to be found on .65.

From Another one of his blogs:

muzik: Running Two (O.P. Phoenix) - Runa Lola Run OST

I've decided to post again since my last post about petty people stirred up a storm, and my post about society of the ancients, which I cannot explain further at this time, is leaving people totally baffled.

Hmmmm...

Probably a good chance that we brute forced our way into the society of the ancients website. They were probably hosting it at the IP and registered the domain name to be revealed at a later point...

So now we have the comic, which was leaked early due to a paper carrier looking ahead to this weekend's ads, and a website that we found by brute force. I bet the PMs are having a hell of a time trying to catch up...

It seems like if AR is behind any of this, he is trying to unite us all into the SOTA. For what reason, I do not know, but maybe it is to aid him in defending the Earth and the Arc from some kind of impending doom.
That would be pretty neat IMHO.

Some of these may be worth looking at.
