 		"All things being equal, the simplest solution tends to be the best one."

Frustrating considering there are many different things being discovered (and many of these are BTC or jokers), but I can't shake the feeling that we're not seeing the forest for the trees.

We need to watch the countdown page...I think that, as many have theorized, we're WAY ahead of where we're intended to be by finding SotA. Maybe there's something key that we haven't been privvy to yet.

Also, any idea what the shapes are that designate the five servers on the halo3.com page?

There are ideas floating out there that it could be multiple perspectives of AR. The countdown page could be leading to the unlocking of one of the servers. It could also be leading to the opening of Application Acceptance, via email, by SOTA.

 		I get the feeling that the first theory is more likely. Sorry for not catching the theories regarding the different views of AR. Don't we know that there are five halos that haven't been seen yet? If this is the case, perhaps the images are of the artifacts (keys) from each of the remaining Halos? I don't know...just trying to think down routes we haven't yet...

 		why can't I find sota.com but when I put 206.16.223.63 I go directly to the site and the averyfane guy has the website sota.com posted on his myspace

www.sota.com is being deemed not owned by MS at this point, so is defunct/unreachable.

Try www.Societyoftheancients.com instead.

Know what? It's the covenant alphabet. It was used to decipher some hidden messages on the Halo 2 website when Halo 2 released. We're not sure yet if Avery Fane is part of the ARG. Either he is and we've skipped ahead where we shouldn't be, or he isn't. Either way he should be ignored until we have a solid link from SOTA, Halo 3 site, or the countdown site to him.

Clearly a clue, but we have so much info right now that we might not know what it pertains to.

I think it pertains to everything. Smile Occam's Razor is a really valuable logic tool, and it should be applied to every puzzle and SPEC in every ARG. (Or in the Halo background, for that matter.)

-- Steve knows the draw of the baroque theory can be strong (hence all those conspiracy theories floating around) but usually it's the simplest theory that's right.
