In a spectacular group effort, Jake's hidden message has been decoded.


Spoiler (Rollover to View):
scrivener22 said that the ASCII art reminded him of hindi symbols, and then he proceded to find a site with the hindi alphabet

Various other hindi alphabet sites were found by Addlepated and SquareKnight, until Sin_Vrall suggested http://www.omniglot.com, which was almost certainly what Jake was implying with "where have all the glots gone?"

From there, EricL1st worked with lightning swiftness to decode the first portion. Not to be outdone (and hoping to easily pick up some cheap acclaim), SquareKnight translated the /last/ portion. scrivener22 and EricL1st proceeded to translate the middle portion, giving us a full

CAN YOU HELP ME / INANIMATE REASON / CARETAKER

Addlepated realized that this was a reference to the Turk!

Meanwhile, Sin_Vraal and SquareKnight happened upon http://www.inanimatereason.com and shortly thereafter, the obvious

Jake's blog!

SquareKnight narrowly edged out Sin_Vraal in reporting this find, using various and sundry dirty tricks up to and including typing just a little bit faster.


A fantastic group solve. And, really, isn't that what we're all about?

I too was sent the email, but can't seem to see the section that looks like Hindi. I suppose I'm just too comfortable staring at email headers. That's not a sad thing is it?

 		The hindi characters are in HTML comments in the message. You need to view source or open the message in Notepad to read them.
