"This isn't 42's game"

Well. You say it is unlike any of their games? Is it not 42's specialty to shock, suprise, and mislead? Puzzlemasters.. I often refer to them as PuppetMasters, and for good reason.

What difference does it make?

Why are we so worried about figuring out who is behind this game? Just so we can accurately gauge how well this new ARG lives up to our I Love Bees nostalgia?

Seems like a good way to put a damper on your enjoyment of the game, if you ask me.

True.

That's like playing a new video and only thinking about the studio behind it.

Hi guys. I've been following this for the past few days, and I lurked a bit back when I Love Bees was going on. I'd like to get more involved this time around and I look forward to working with you guys.

Obviously Smile Basically quality of game. I'll tell you that when it was originally thought that 42 wasn't behind the game, it turned me off quite a bit. It takes a lot of time investment to play these ARGs, and at least I know that 42 is capable. They were also very dedicated to the fans and lore of Halo. The audio story for ILB was amazing and the characters interesting. I don't personally believe that the ILB characters will make a return for this one, but who knows.

Also, if 42 is behind it there may be additional clues in the Game Head video. If there are additional clues, they're probably not required to solve puzzles in the game itself, or at the very least will be re-asserted later on in the game with more details, but good to find nonetheless.

That's enough from me, since this is derailing the game discussion itself (however, at the moment there is nothing to actually do so this passes the time).

Hi, I'm brand new to the boards, and ARGs for that matter. I've been lurking on the boards following this for a couple days now, and I noticed someone posted a link to http://www.27.com/cool. I don't know if it has been covered, but I found an interesting background image on the website.

Now, I'm no wiz at Photoshop, but can anyone clean that up and see if it's worth looking into? Again, sorry if this has already been posted.

I don't think it's related. Awayway, a user on B.net found the whole picture. at this site: http://www.ufocasebook.com/unmannedprobeanalysis.html

Here's a picture I made comparing the two:

This has been ruled out as not being ingame multiple times already. 27 is part of another ARG/game run by topcola. We've come to the conclusion that this is definitely NOT ingame.

Not to sound rude, but read the thread before posting, and do a search to make sure what you're posting/adding hasn't been covered before.

Ah OK. I thought maybe the symbols were Covenant. I'm trying to find a use for the alphabet Avery Fane posted on his myspace blog. I hope that guy has something to do with the game. Otherwise, he just looks like a major bag of douche who's getting publicity from this when he shouldn't.

I, for one, really hate when people *spoil* this game with a lot of halo 3 facts from the future.

LE: OT
Whoever built that 27.com site couldn't have chosen a worst time do to it I guess.

I dont see how Since a lot of the story line and ideas are derived from the halo universe. The entire point is that its an ARG and a deeper look into the backstory.

If you ask me, the only reason people are 'worried' with finding out who is behind this, is that there's not much else to do a the moment... this is what ARGers do, they tear stuff apart thread by thread to see if there's *ANYTHING* that might give them more information than they already have. Smile

While you may be right in respect to the above, who's to say that there aren't other parties capable of this as well?

I'm very much reminded of the second week of the Metacortechs game: here people are, experiencing a hugely intriguing Matrix-based mystery that no one had found lacking in quality in any way so far, yet something out-of-game revealed the fact that it wasn't the Wachowski brothers doing this themselves and people dropped like flies... Rolling Eyes

What if you had turned away the first time around because you were disappointed 42 was behind ILB instead of Bungie doing it themselves or something? Just keep an open mind and judge ARGs by their quality and not their creators Smile

Well said!

Now let's sit back, relax, and worry about the possible future destruction of all living organisms.
