I was wondering if - once we line all the letters up - they will each be a letter in our name or email address or the email he sent to us...

So for instance: Mine was

me

and my email address is melissa_heymanSPLAThotmail.com (or insert alternate text here that is somehow personalized to us and contains the letter or letters that he sent us)

so for each letter, we would count how far into our email address (or other text) it was and rot accordingly?

Does that make sense?

So my "me" would (through rot1 and then rot2) become ng? It would work the same way for my name, but I'm having trouble making this work for everyone just in going back through the string. So I'm not sure.

I thought maybe this was why the CM said to Wabonan "I still don't know your real name..."

EDIT: I've been messing around with this for hours... maybe this will help someone else... it's a series of the letters/emails/names/phrases/and a few times.

I don't know if that works - my solo letter (without a quote) is P, which is in my email, but the other letters I received (with words) are B and G, neither of which are in my email. If that makes sense? Were we even talking about letters with words?

Also, times:

I think there are only two clues to take out of the words with phrases:

time

&

pertains to you the solution brings us closer

After that, I think we have to figure out (1) how to order the individual letters - by time and (2) how to break their code through the solution that pertains to us and is responsible for bringing us closer - possibly e-mail, since he's using that to get to know us?

In other words, I think we're only talking about the single letters - and I am only shooting in the dark at #2 how to break the code while I wait for the times so that we can put them in the right order.

And I have no idea what I'm talking about - this is a complete shot in the dark.

It might be hard to order the clues based on time because we're not all in the same time zone. So if I get something at 2:30 pm est and someone on the west coast got it at 2:20, I am actually before them.

Haven't heard anything since I responded to this, yesterday morning. Just thought I'd put that out there.

Probably. Someone hasn't checked in with three phrases, I think. Italics my totally made-up guesses:

P (The thing that I)
E (like most about)
R codes (and mysteries
T in general) is
A (that, to the)
I (casual observer, and)
N (even the most)
S (perceptive one, what)
T (you see makes)
O (no sense 99.99%)
Y (of the time.)
O (But, when the)
U (correct solution)
T (is reached,)
H (after much time)
E (and mental)
S (effort, everything)
O (suddenly falls)
L (into place,)
U (all of the)
T (loose ends)
I (become tied,)
O (the mysteries unraveled,)
N (and the result)
B (is a clear and)
R (satisfyingly coherent picture)
I (that makes all the)
N (previous efforts)
G (worthwhile. Our)
S (lives are like)
U (codes that need)
S (solutions. We struggle)
C (in darkness with)
L (pieces that don't)
O (fit and sometimes)
S (you need a)

E (a stranger to show)
R you the bigger picture

Don't forget we also have all the damn unassociated letters we got in the first batch of emails. - P S M T O ME SA A H R S T C E T O I E D N H E (I think that's all of them). Tom's omelette email said that "The words, once unscrambled, give you insight into how to unscramble the letters, including the letters that have no associated words." So how does "pertains to you" and "the solution brings us closer" help us unscramble those letters?

"s" is no component of the mail address by the way.

Der Kork, would you mind posting the time stamps from those?

EDIT: and what's you email address?

and what do you mean by "s"? (I was wondering if "t" was a part of your email address...)

I can try (all times given in GMT+1):
Mail 1: 15.06.2007 07:49
Mail 2: 16.06.2007 07:47
Mail 3: 17.06.2007 08:13

email address: per.garmierSPLATgmail.com

I must have gotten you wrong about the letter thing...

Maybe it was meant for my "follower"?

Since the CM would have no idea when we would recieve these e-mails then wouldnt it be better to use the time that he sent them to us.

Just a thought
