[SPEC] AR and attacker are from same origin

I'm not sure if you guys have stumbled upon this idea, or whether it's been understood but not vocalized, but here goes.

My personal theory is that AR was originally the "assistant" to a larger construct, this "older entity". I assume this because and adjutant is an assistant to a higher-ranking officer. Also, AR says that the other thing is higher-ranking than he, signifying that they were both ranked according to the same system, thusly they both are from the same origin. This backs up my theory, right?

AR seems to have to have control over the array, perhaps he was the only thing with direct contact to the Halos. This would be so that the larger construct would have time to sit back and "judge" the human race, to determine if it was worth not setting off the Halos and destroying everything just to save the Human race.

OK, so the big construct goes dormant to study and "judge" the human race. AR, on the other hand, stays online and on the internet, data mining, and decides on his own that the Human race is worth saving. He knows the big construct is waking up soon, starts to warn us. The big construct has decided we're not worth it. The big construct has woken up, found out what AR's done, and gets PISSED. Starts to attack AR. Tries to regain control over AR. Well, is currently trying.

Is this stupid? It's been floating around my head for a while.

I think similar theories have been proposed...

The thing about the same origin - I like the idea - but part of me thinks that if the attacker is unknown and AR sees it's more powerful, it might assume that it is simply a higher-ranking entity. If it has no comprehension of anything other than its own systems, or maybe has been programmed to believe that nothing can be more powerful except high ranking entities from the same origin, then it might simply conclude that, even if the entity is foreign. In a sense, it's like AI pride Smile.

You'd think it would say 'unknown origin', but if its makers assumed that nothing could be more powerful outside their own technology, then its natural reaction would be 'higher rank'... *shrug* just thoughts.

Of less importance to the firing of the Halos should be the "worthiness" of humanity, so much as the threat of the Flood.

Or at least that's the impression I've gotten from their supposed purpose.

After all, fat lot of good it apparently did the Forerunners. They weren't "saved" by the Halos, or at least that didn't seem to be their primary purpose.

The Halos were to kill the food source of the Flood, starving them. That seemed of greater importance than the preservation of any particular life form.

Though why we exist if the Halos were fired 100,000 years ago is beyond me. And if they saved us then, why would they not seek to preserve us now?

well the thing is, it's not all about the "worthiness" of humanity, it's about whether they're able to generate a solution to the flood, so that this whole "destroying the universe" thing can be avoided.
