The timer page also seems to have gone haywire and is counting down much faster.
THAT, and it now also says:
Code:
/system override/
Core Relevance 37% and Rising.
/negative - system control diverted
Definetly been that way for a good while.

I just checked the countdown, it is still counting down till 12 tonight.
Now that AR has appeared to have been taken over, I wonder if he was able to leave his legacy in a small place as he indicated he would.
Also, does the new avatar (or any part of the new avatar) show any resemblance to any of the promotional materials included with the Halo 3 Zune?

That's what I get for looking at it like one time yesterday morning and expecting it to stay static all day.

Both actually.
Page has been like that for awhile, and the speed of the clock is a result of the bug in calculating the starting time.
Mind you, I've seen that exact trout twice in the past 30 seconds, so I guess it's a common mistake.

So forgive me for being confused about all the talk of the timer bug. Are we stilll expecting it to run out at midnight tomorrow evening?

The timer ends tonight at midnight.
The confusion stems from the fact that, upon refresh, the remaining time resets to the time left until tomorrow night at midnight. But it actually counts down at a rate that will end tonight at midnight.

Which means that, as we get closer and closer to tomorrow, that timer is going to go faster and faster. Yeah, that much I already had figured out. I just never noticed the change in the rest of the text till a moment ago.

ie technically not a bug if tomorrow night is irrelevent.. ie watch for tonight/tomorrow, don't worry (at this point) about tomorrow midnight

This actually reminds me. As a note to those who never played or lurked through ILB:
Just because the timer ends, don't necessarily expect an update right then. There were a lot of countdowns and timers during ILB that ended late and everyone stayed up for them, only to find out that the PM's didn't feel like updating until the following morning. Not saying this is how it'll go since this doesn't seem to be 42, but my advice would be if you need to getup early tomorrow, you don't have to stay up. Heh
By the way, since I'm too lazy to figure this out: midnight in what timezone?

Pacific Standard Time, I believe.

The flash seems to indicate EST. The variables are output as:
Variable _level0.clock_mc.endTime = [object #11, class 'Date'] {Thu Jun 21 00:00:00 GMT-0500 2007}
Variable _level0.clock_mc.newTime = [object #12, class 'Date'] {Wed Jun 20 00:00:00 GMT-0500 2007}
GMT - 0500, unless I am mistaken, is EST.

Interesting to note AR is saying that "The stain on his hands will not wash.", not AR's. It's a bit of a stretch to rationalize what we've seen of Gravemind feeling guilt.
Perhaps a rampant Forerunner AI not unlike Guilty Spark or Penitent Tangent?
But in the next few lines, AR went on to say that "he" didn't feel guilt at all (despite the stain on "his" hands).
So, not so much a stretch for Gravemind.
