That horse is dead.

Awww, c'mon, let's beat it anyway. It's not like we have anything else to do in the meantime.

Yeah, but what are we going to say? "Look, a dead horse."?

I'm starting to feel like I'm in the middle of a big field of dead horses in this ARG (I spent alot of time in the bungie.net forums...)

Why say anything? look you only have two options, either beat the horse until its tender or start cooking it now.

the countdown seems to have stopped on the coordinates of Mt. Elgon in Africa. this is likely to be the place of the Ark, which would explain why the Covenant landed in Mombasa (the opening covenant attack during Halo 2) and why the Circuit City webcomic featured the Forerunners in Africa.

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but I'm in a rush to get to work this morning. Very Happy

But if the timer has been in base 7 this whole time, shouldn't the coordinates? Instead of 1.12, 34.53, why aren't they 1.9, 25.38? Granted, they just put you in the middle of the congo instead of on top of a mountain, which seems a little less significant, but has anybody looked into it?

i'm worried about the base 7 part as well, but the AR messages speak of folds and eons. and since eons refer to geological periods, the folds might refer to the bending of tectonic plates which would result in a mountain or caldera like Elgon.

However, the location could be referring to the Congo craton, which would also deal with folds

It's actually not all that close to the mountain.

If you notice, the town of Mbale is well west of the mountain and if you put the timer coordinates into Google Earth, they end up about 9 miles west of the town.

20 miles east of the town? I probably goofed somewhere

why did we get two different places?

could the numbers be something other than coordinates?

I'm not a Flash developer, so perhaps this is a reference to something involving the clock.swf file, but did anyone else notice the id given to the <span> is keybundle-countdown-content-remaining on the timer page?

Keybundle?

EDIT: I'm sorry, but I just looked at the CSS for the page and see that keybundle is used as an ID for the styling. keybundle-countdown...considering CSS can be assigned a class/ID of "poo-poo-head" and it's nothing more than an identifier to be called by the HTML...there has to be a reason for the use of the term "keybundle."

The answer is under your nose. Build a set of B.net Halos to eradicate the forums of all "sentient" life. It is the only way.

I think you're on to something here. The Ngorongoro Crater is very near these coordinates. This site is considered the 8th wonder of the world and is sometimes called "The Crater of Life"

Here's a link with a familiar looking tribe:

edit: fixed url
