Why did you write the following in Jake's comment section on his Blog? I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish with it.

IT IS A TRAP.

What did you mean by that?

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL

When I started playing this game, I thought it was more interesting and immersive than I have since discovered it to be.

Accordingly, I suspected that perhaps the disappearance of NRU was a cover-up, not a time travel thing, and that if Jake went back there, he would in fact find NRU, but would be caught and dealt with in a wholly unpleasant fashion.

In addition, I thought it would be kind of exciting for the other players. Of which I have now learned there are exactly seven.

I have now come to the realization that this game used to be run by a group of people, all of whom bailed, leaving just one person to keep it from melting down. This is why we get no more web puzzles, but instead get Encyclopedia Brown style dialogue in IRC chats.

This is what happened to Clandestine Rogue before its PM shut it down. I think my constant posting as "CLANDONYMOUS POGUE" also had something to do with it but, as they say, water under the bridge. Which I subsequently burned to ashes. And then mocked.

Anyhoodly-doodle, Acheron seems to be the only ARG running right now, so I'm in. I'm hoping that the IRC nonsense will stop and we will go back to a web puzzle.

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL AND IN MY ARG ALL THE PUZZLES WILL BE HIDDEN IN COOKIE RECIPES.

1. Um, so you want us to start mocking you here as well?

2. You don't know who is left or if in fact anyone bailed. If there is a problem with technology that can't be helped. If you feel this game is in meltdown, then please do not hang around and act like a troll. It will only lead to people not liking you very much. In otherwords, don't become part of the problem. Thanks ever so much.

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL AND YOU MISSED MY POINT.

I didn't say the game was in meltdown. I specifically said one guy was preventing it from melting down. From what I can tell, this person is very dedicated, which is good for us.

The problem, as I see it, is that there is no mechanism for us to know whether or not we are right about are theories, or even what we are supposed to be doing. If the game was in hiatus, the remaing POM could simply send an email as Jake (or any other character) and say "Listen, I have to go on a business trip for x weeks, I talk to you when I get back". Simple.

I am not a troll, and I will aggressively defend my name and brand identity with this very large and very smelly trout that was furnished to me when I registered. Verily it is a fearsome trout. Not to be trifled with.

In the meantime, I've taken the liberty of posting a puzzle in the "RANT FRUSTRATION FORUM" (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=33731#33731) forum that I think should be fun to solve. If it's too hard (and Googling the answer is cheating), here's an easy one:

"What runs but cannot walk, and has a mouth but cannot speak?"

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL AND I'M KEEPING IT INTERESTING WHILE PM GETS HIS ACT TOGETHER.

Dear PastaBagel,
Please stop yelling. It really isn't necessary to aggressively defend yourself. This is all going to work out. I would be careful about implying that any puzzle might be to hard to solve for the people who play here. They are very, very good. And, they are much more fun to work with than to antagonize.

Talk to you later.

Who's yelling? I'm not. Nor am I trying to antagonize anyone.

That's the puzzle I posted earlier, fyi, i screwed the link up before. And no googling the answer (that's not really solving it, is it?)

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL

But they did that for the other hiatus at the end of October/November. This time they are taking a different approach so that we don's "get stale" by being handed the same excuse every time there is a problem. At least they are being creative with the reasonswe are not moving forward.

As for your trout, I got a couple of freezer fulls, that I'd be willing to sell you cheap. Some are even left over from CTW.

As for the puzzle... do others think that the Acheon board is the place for outside puzzles?
