And as if by magic, midnightcreative.com has now changed to a blank page (for me, at least). The source reveals another c2c2 reference:

Code:

!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "c2c2"

Before, this was "wired". For 6op1libra.com, it's "lost" and for highfivegame.com it's "found".

My inkling is that c2c2 is the main route forward from here. However, highfivegame.com seems to be the "rabbit's foot" according to its metadata description, so maybe the white rabbit is on that page somewhere, but TBH that could be anything: number string, the picture of the book, etc. Can't see any jpg comments, and stegdetect doesn't turn up anything.

I emailed him too:

That would seem likely. But people are never where the rabbit foot

UPDATE:

I emailed c2c2@... all the domains. Two bounced (midnight and highfive), but I got this reply from the c2c2SPLAT6op1libra.com (via the onfilm email):

Uhh... might be a lil strange:

http://www.midnightcreative.com/2.jpg
http://www.midnightcreative.com/3.jpg
http://www.midnightcreative.com/4.jpg
http://www.midnightcreative.com/5.jpg
http://www.midnightcreative.com/6.jpg

Also, waybackmachine says... http://web.archive.org/web/20050201115402/http://midnightcreative.com/
This seems to be Eric's personal site. From the emails I got, it seems like someone is forcing his hand to do all this.

Also: further back in the wayback machine says... http://web.archive.org/web/20040923204326/http://midnightcreative.com/
I looked at the co-ordinates on the original post and found that it's Congress St West in Detroit. Apparently home to a number of government buildings... including 422 Congress Street West Incorporated (check me on this). Maybe Eric is pointing us towards something in the Gov't?

Uhhhh, WTF. This game just got odd. Informatics at Sussex Uni is my old dept - did CS & AI there, still know a fair few people. They do a lot of evolution stuff.

I also mailed c2c2SPLAT6op1libra.com, this is the reply I got:

Thought it was base64, but wrong character set. Think it might be PGP encyrpted or something...

OK. This is getting odd.

Eric gave me this number: +44 (0)1273 234 290.
It's a UK number. I rang it. A man answered (with lots of noise in the background, maybe children) and had no idea who Eric was or anything to do with 16op1libra. He seemed normal and a little confused about it all. If someone else can try it and get more joy, that would be good.

I googled the number and it comes up with Magpie: http://www.magpie.net/whereweare.html

Maybe it's not a Raven after all, but a Magpie?
I've emailed Magpie and will post when they reply.

While I was looking at the http://www.6op1libra.com/ site, it changed to a black background with the text:
Quote:
Janus had two faces, one looking forwards and one looking back, since a door can let you in, or let you out.
Volg het Witte Konijn nadat u zijn voet vindt

which makes me think the decode would be "bipolar".
There's a LJ account out there for bipolar61, but I really don't think it's IG.

You think it's odd? I worked for Magpie for 2 years... o_O I thought that phone number rang a bell.

I can think of a couple of Nicks who worked there, but who have no moved on to other things. I think they both went through Informatics too.

OK, I just got the Janus link. It ties in with that code earlier. here's instructions for contacting me via PGP - same code. Seriously freaked out about now...

Highfivegame.com changed to this:

You are not expected to find it.

Give up.

I googled Palmer and what was already in my search (the phone number) by accident... and got this!

Umm, yup. Runtime switched names to Magpie about a couple of years ago. Giles Palmer is still there. They generally have nothing to do with gamestuffs.

Urrr. None of my contacts on IM are responding. I'm kind of hoping I haven't made someone's game difficult all of a sudden... Wink *gulp*

Palmer could refer to my earlier post: "http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/medialog/entry/the_culture_of/ mentions "6op 1" in a comment posted by "Palmer Eldritch", which is the title character of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_Stigmata_of_Palmer_Eldritch. The comment is left on a talk that posits "Is genetics the new religion?""

IRC chan in irc.appliedirc.com #6op1. Nothing fancy just a "ZOMG, scribe is one of them!" type of thing.

It's linked at the bottom of the page. When you mouseover the dot, you see 1.18, the newspaper pictured here, makes reference to Jan 18.
