This appears to be confirmation that the Halos were activated in order to irradicate the flood. Which, I'm assuming, are the antithesis of life.

However, these are very powerful and emotional words, defending the firing of the Halos, which tells me that it wasn't done by an AI/Monitor (which the Halo story supports). I wonder who it was that fired the Halos.


*EDIT* Holy freaking brainstorm batman, I think I've got it.


I believe that Adjutant Reflex was an AI based off the person that fired the Halos, as Cortana is based off of Dr. Hasley. This would explain the Macbeth references to her guilt over her participation in a murder "That damned spot"

Actually, I would argue that, just as the opposite of "love" is "apathy" rather than "hate", the opposite of "life" is... something, call it "anti-life", while "death" is the mid-point that they both have in common. The Flood is almost certainly the "antithesis" of life, "just as powerful" - but the Flood isn't DEAD, rather it seeks to consume and destroy all other life.

Anyhow... going back to what EdifyYo said...

Instead of calling it "Anti-Life," could it also be the absence of life? Like, acoma or something?

(Yes, I know people in acoma are TECHNICALLY still alive. But it could alsow mean life as in animation; liveliness; spirit, since it says "KNOW THAT ENERGETIC AND TENACIOUS AS LIFE IS ")
