Hidden message?
That reminded me of the Cortana/Gravemind mix that appeared in the first Halo 3 trailer.

Am I wrong or did AR say that he/she was one part of a conscience that held 4 entities. Could that have been him/her?

It appears to me that whoever it was has been manipulating time over and over again through the ages (?) trying to save the universe and that this was the last desparate attempt and that it would prevent any further attempts.

Any other opinions?

Hoever, Angri, you seem to have a point, i've been listening to that stupid file over and over... trying to glean exactly what i am listening to.

one theory is: try playing it backwards, i don't have the equipment for that yet, so that will have to wait.

another thing i was working on was how many voices, i'm gonig to try to crack down on that and get you as close to an answer as possible.

 		The point of it seems to be in finding a way to use the keys. So, is there a clue here on how to find these use them?

I tried to enter mine into the "xbox live redeem code" area but that needs to be 25 characters long and you can't use the "=".

The first line is interesting when you consider the bits about TS Eliot they are discussing over in the thread about the Cortana Letters.

TS Eliot once said in one of his poems. "This is how it ends, not with a bang, but a whimper." And Cortana says that he is wrong, and concludes with

"THIS is how it ends."

So starting with "This is how it all begins." seems significant to me.

As far as the intonation and cadence of the voice(s), there's more then one person speaking there, I suspect that the flat delivery is intended. When I listen very carefully... I think I can hear Cortana among the two or possibly three voices. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

It seems to me to very sort of mechanical tone. The speaker(s) don't have any real feeling, they are dead... Assimilated.

And not in a good way, like how we recombined Melissa, Derga, and the Sleeping Princess .

Those were three entities that belonged together to begin with.

 		I've got a DJ program that allows me to play songs forwards and backwards, adjust pitch, etc. I played the transmission... There is definitely something there. I'm still looking for the perfect settings to play the recording. So far I've heard "Within Earth's matter" and various other things that I can not yet confirm. I think we should definitely look into this.

 		Just some spec here, but could the line "Take these keys and dip from the wells of history" be referring to the notes being played in the background music. The music seems very rudimentary like we were meant to pick out the notes.

Well, that first note pops out at you like a spike in the ear. I wouldn't be surprised. Not having the ear for it, I really couldn't help but assume it was the right track. If so, how could we translate C,B,G,G or whatnot into a way to interact?

backwards, the version posted up there, it doesn't seem to be up with anything. but it IS interesting. Acesnipe, please update with anything you can find with that program of yours. i'm so interested in this thing.

Treyfrd?, that thing about the chords poked out at me before too, they sound like the (if i recall correctly) E Dorian chords from the Halo 3 trailer, but i can't be certain...

HitsherMark, the first thing i thought about when i heard the first line was Cortana. that's definitely also different from what the trailers say "THIS is how the world ends." and of course, the original "THIS is how it ends" from the Cortana letter.

i can definitely glean out two specific male voices, one really low, and one moderate tone. besides that i THINK i can hear tones from another voice, but it might just be the moderate toned male.

 		I'd like to be able to pick out the notes, but my musical talents don't extend far beyond the ability to read sheet music. I just don't have the ear for it.

Listening to that backward recording a couple of times, it definitely sounds like there's something there. I can pick out a few little things here and there that might be words from the deep voice, but like SplinterCellMGS said, it's too fast.
