[REFERENCE] A FAQ for the Halo 3 ARG Includes Adjutant Reflex and Society of the Ancients FAQ Up-to-date FAQ can be found on the wiki !
Now that TheBruce's site is back up I'll just keep the FAQ on the wiki up to date there, since a lot more folks visit that page and its easier to keep track of when there's just one FAQ to keep updated.

In addition to the email many players received early this morning, today at exactly 3:43 PM (343 is 7^3, and also part of the name of the Monitor of Halo 04) AdjutantReflex gave us a puzzle:

Who is the path of light from blackest Earth to brilliant heaven?
On whose golden wings will we fly from here to there?
The answer, as sgt sasqatch figured out, is Iris .
Adjutant Reflex's response:

Time to sleep. Something that once was malevolent is stirring. [hibernation resumed]
A glyph, similar (but not identical) to the one in the image from the email, was discovered in a reflection in Master Chief's visor on the front page of the halo3.com web site.
AdjutantReflex changed his forum icon to this:
The same icon that appears on the wall in the image from the email sent out this morning.
Some players are getting a "locked servers" screen on the halo3 website. Apparently this can be duplicated by clearing your browser's temp files before visiting the site.
A lot of players have been searching through the images and flash swf files from halo3.com, looking for clues, but so far nothing has turned up.
A comic page on halo3.com was discovered. Supposedly this came from a newspaper ad that wasn't supposed to go into cirulation until sunday, so it's possible that we may be a step ahead of the PM's right now. Woops! Some juicy clues as to the Forerunner activities on ancient earth can be found here. The last page of the comic features a painting of the glyph we've seen recurring throught the day now. Clicking on the second pane on the last page reveals what appears to be a fraction, 16/223.
A closer inspection reveals that 4 numbers are found on the last page of the comic, with periods separating them into 4 blocks. 206.16.223.65. This is an IP Address. A quick whois reveals that this particular IP is owned by Microsoft. It is running a web server but currently all access is restricted. But how to unlock it...?
A site is now live on the IP address gleaned from the comic It is a countdown. Oooooh.
Someone tries out 206.16.233.63, another IP in the same range, and also owned by Microsoft, and uncovers The Society of the Ancients! . The game is afoot!

The FAQ on the wiki is different, I've noticed.

When did "ingame" become a word?

I don't think it's updated on the wiki yet to match this one.

it actually was uptodate save the first question, but I had reorder the questions a little bit on the wiki. I've updated it a little more to be closer to this faq.
note: anyone can update it if they see there's a difference or something missing

It might be useful to post a link to the post with the list of *fake* websites in the FAQ; maybe after "What is in-game?" you could ask "What isn't in-game and include it. We could call it the FAQE.

I second the motion.
EDIT: Although we shouldn't discourage people from viewing page source!

Yes, we know. Searching the forum would have told you we know. The wiki is down due to server load and is being migrated by GoDaddy. It will reappear when they let it.

The wiki is great. I guess we don't need the FAQ directly on the forums here? I particularly like the google ad placement for the Halo vacuum cleaner - it works great on dust mites! Sorry, make that the Halo UVX Ultraviolet vacuum.
For some reason, that makes me laugh.
hmm - it even deactivates the DNA of viruses! Let's order one for the MC to use.
