long time lurker, first time poster...

if the glyphs are in some way part of language and/or meant to convey symbolic meaning, then it may be relevant that the flash movie's loading screen features a version of them doing a count down (or up).

Hrmm... Urk had mentioned they were maps, or guides or something to the placement of the halos through out the galaxy.

Photoshop fun ftw.

i rebuilt the image in vector so i could manipulate it and i got this pic of the mikly way and turned it. it looks like the arms of the glyph reach out to the edges, and the circles that will appear may end up being the location of the halos through out the galaxy?

if there are 7 halos. 5 along the arms of hte milky way. and 2 in the center ( center of hthe galaxy is dense, so 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom) = 7 halos.

Just a quick note on the new glyph. I thought to consider it as a maze... note that there's no access to the centre dot from outside the glyph if it's treated as a maze puzzle. I'm wondering if further unlockings will open a path from the exterior to the centre dot.

-- Steve doesn't really know the significance, but it makes for an interesting idea.

no did you realise that the symbol in ARs avatar and on the sota site are different to the one on the server? maybe after the other servers are opened the symbol will be different on each and if you combine them you will be able to determine the location of each halo via the circle on each arm (if u get what i mean)

[<array> 0 seconds]

Reversion Sequence…{negative}

[<array> 7 seconds]

Assuming that this is some sort of log that was created during the firing sequence of the Halos, anybody find it peculiar that there appears to be a seven second delay between when the <fire> command is issued and when the reset lines appear?

It would just mean that there were seven seconds of continuous pulse, wouldn't it?

I wonder if that's Cortana aborting the Halo detonation in Halo 1. She did, after all, stop the countdown after John-117 started it.

I suppose, yeah. Maybe it's not terribly unusual, but I thought it worth noting.

The events you are speaking of happened 100,000 years after this log was compiled.

How do we know this transmission is 100,000 years old?

In Halo(2 I think?) the Monitor tells us that the rings have been fired once 100,00 years ago.

Yes. But how do we know that this is that transmission.

Yes. But how do we know that this is that transmission.

Because it shows the Halos firing. And that has only happened once -- 100,000 years ago.

That's true if the transmission is that of a successful firing sequence. Most likely that is the case, but it may not be.
