attempting (almost certainly badly) to think outside the box a bit - could the meta data be there to point us at the original image?

Which brings up the question, why? What motive would they have? Maybe the original images have messages in them?

I did see the Getty image, but I'm just not sure what to do with it yet. I mean, there's kind of a backwards 7 if you look at it...

I tried opening that one as a text file but didn't find anything.

I'm sorry to bust the bubble, but you CAN get to the american version of it. I tried to find the exact image, but I couldn't on their online catalog. From what I've seen of stock photo's, the online catalog is only a small portion of what they actually offer, more like a sample. Also, they are usually at extremely high resolutions, and the photo's on the web site are low res, which also points to them only being samples.

Let me find the link to the american version of the picture...

Wait, asd already linked to the image on the american site. What may have thrown you off is the first person who found the image used Google that linked him to the Japanese site. I believe that this is just part of the collection "STONE".

I'm e-mailing the comapny for clarification.
