I'd start by reading through the last puzzle thread ("Time we got to know each other better"). We just solved that one and are kind of waiting right now for the next step -- or if there is a next step we are supposed to take right now, we haven't found it yet.

Aside from that, you could email the Codemaster at samdeercotSPLATgmail.com and let him know you're following this and you read about the solve for the last puzzle, and you want to be involved. I'd say something suitably ego-stroking, like that you want to "help him tell his story" or something like that. He's fairly responsive via email, and for a kidnapper/possible murderer, remarkably personable.

I'm also new here, I've been looking over this information and really want to get involved as well. So thanks for the information, seems someone asked before I could. Smile

Welcome Jer and Bleeli,

Just keep a watch on the top threads you will see when things are happening. Join in on the hunt and speculation for the answers. Speak your mind and try to give a reason for what you speculate on. Your thoughts however odd, may not be the correct answer, but your open speculation on them may spark the correct answer from someonelse. With a lot of people e-mailing the CodeMaster, he seems to dribble a little bit out at a time. You might want to try and join us in chat to see if anything immediate is going on.

Same for the rest of yous lurkers out there .... Delurk and say hi .... the second phase is about to begin and im sure there will be plenty to do for everyone.

Yikes! You caught me! I have been lurking for quite sometime...and felt this would be the perfect time for me to join in.

I haven't (had the nerve to) write to the CM, but I will do so right now. I honestly think the more people who write and tell him that we want to help, the better.

I have to tell you that you guys/gals are incredible. It's just amazing how, with teamwork, you are able to crack the codes and puzzles. WOW!

Ok...I'm off to email the CM. Wish me luck!

All my best...

I just received a reply from Mr. Deercot.

This is what I wrote him initially:

I was given links to your videos. They are quite...intriguing. Please know that I wish to help.

Always,
Cat

This is what he replied:

Welcome Cat!! Now, tell me about yourself...

Codemaster

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what I wrote back to him. Please remember that I get a bit goofy when I'm nervous. And I was EXTREMELY nervous. Was this reply ok?

Hmmmm....you got a few weeks?

In a nut shell, I am a 41 year old mother of 2 wonderful boys. Wonderful...most of the time, except now that they are on summer vacation. I have to keep them busy 24/7 and spend tons of money just to make them crack a smile. I'm happily married. Thank Goodness, cause I've gained 30 pounds after having my last child. Which I am NOT happy about...but won't do anything about. My husband tells me that he loves me 'fluffy' which is cute, but probably a lie.

Let's see...something you might find interesting. My father is a retired NYC Homicide Detective. Started Profiling and decided to retire early. I guess he got tired of living inside the minds of...well, let's just leave it at that.

In my next life, I want to be a Forensic Scientist. I've made too many bad decisions in this life, but I'm happy with how it's turned out and I have my beautiful family.

Do you have a family, Mr. Deercot? I've wondered about this. Quite a lot, actually.

I've never done drugs and I drink every 6 months. I started smoking at age 31. Don't ask me why I started then. One of my bad decisions.

Life would be peachy if I can lose the 30 pounds and quit smoking.

Now...can I be frank with you, Mr. Deercot? I'm in this to help Eric. I'm in it for the long haul. And I'm in it to catch you. But, that doesn't mean we can't be friends.

If you need me to ramble further, or if you need someone to talk to, feel free to email. I'm a great listener.

Thank you so much for replying, Mr. Deercot.

Always,
Cat

Maybe I shouldn't have said I'm in it to catch him. Might make him mad. Well...I didn't want to lie to him. UGH.

Yikes! He just replied again. The email contains an attachment. Should I open it? You don't think it's viral or anything? I won't open it until I hear from you guys.

At least I made him laugh!

You're in it to catch me? Haha, get in line. I'm pretty popular these days. But before this is over, I will be a ghost.

I couldn't wait. I opened the attachment, but false alarm. It was simply a copy of the emails in HTML format.

Before I opened it, I sent this reply:

At least I made you laugh. I was worried I might tick you off. Yup, you are very popular. We'll be reading about you in the National Enquirer before long Smile

Oh geez...you sent an attachment. I'm afraid to open it. It's not something that will make my computer explode? No...you wouldn't be that evil.

I'm going now to open the attachment. If it's anything bad, you're in trouble.

You never did answer my question about your family. I'm sure it was just an oversight.

I'm trying to get him to answer the question about his family, which I highly doubt he will.

What do you think he means about being a "ghost"? I think I know what he means....

Sure I will!

Should I just copy and paste it? Or is there a way for me to add an attachment?

Sorry for the dumb questions...
