[OOG] A Potential In-Game Site
www.aelliott.com

So I was googling the names of people we know are associated with the SOTA, and came upon a site for one Aaron Elliott (the Membership Chair). It all seemed very irrelevant until I read the poetry section. Virtually every poem has allusions that would sound incredibly odd if they weren't sort of hinting at things from Halo. A few are fairly mundane, but one actually seems to have been written from the perspective of the Flood. Of course it's possible it's some odd coincidence, and this guy is just plain messed up, but as a writer this screams Forerunner to me. Still skeptical? Read the poem entitled "Seven".

Or maybe the one entitled "The Living Sea" (Flood anyone?)

http://www.aelliott.com/thoughts/living_sea.htm

A fair bit of the emotional content is similar to what we see in the Server 05 video--regret, refuge, seclusion...mentioning the "living fluid" and, oddly, "Our overly shielded vessel is a ship of the damned, floating aimlessly through the stormy seas of a world we refuse to face." Extremely Forerunner-ish.

Your thoughts are welcome. I would dismiss this as fanfic or something but the references don't seem concrete enough for that. You'd have to be looking for the connections to find them.

Well, if it's not in game, it's safe to say that the puppetmasters weren't expecting Aaron Elliot and Dave George to be real people XD

Srsizzy beat me too it, but yeah, registered personally. Originally put up in 2000. The poems did have a creepy familiarity, but a quick trip in the Archive.orgs wayback machine show they have been up since 2001-2002 sometime. Maybe someone at Microsoft is a fan.

I will add an OOg tag and...

Locky!

But good work on the finding and good work on the research into the site. Smile
