[Humor] This has to be IT!!!
I had a thought...

I came to I Love Bees after it had already started rolling and haven't been involved with any other ARG.

Do they always start off with no apparent direction? Or is it only in "Iris" that people sit around coming up with stuff like this?

Why didn't we see it before? It's so obvious!

That's it. It's a clear sign the covenant have won, hijacked a flying GMC DeLorean with a Flux Capacitor, hit a slipstream bubble at 88 mph, ended up at the core of the earth in 2007, and sent videos to everyone with undeniable evidence that we will all die in seven days.

Quickly! We must take the Sacred Rings and throw them into the fires of Mordor!

Yeah, that's pretty much how it's always gone!

I think some of the older ARGers here will agree with me that when a new ARG starts up and new people get involved, they always believe that when we're given information that it should lead to something. But each game has an on/off period. During the on period, you don't get information until the very end. You're following clues, solving puzzles, to get that information. At the end of the on period when you get a huge ammount of information, it goes off. The off period is quiet. The PM's give you time to go through all the new information, pick up on clues possibly amoungst them, before the next big "on" period starts and you realise what the purpose of the information you recieved is.

Newer players, however, seem to believe the whole game is just one huge "on" period. And when all reasonable and logical solutions are exhausted, they start digging into the highly unlikely. Suddenly within a day of the off-period, you get 50 people all clutching at one specific piece of information, digging at it like a madman and screaming "There's something here! THERE'S SOMETHING HERE!" I like to call this "OPM Syndrome" or "Off Period Madness Syndrome". Eventually they will believe they've found something, build a huge theory off the top of it, link it to a website completely unrelated and threaten anybody that disagrees with it with death.

Honestly, one day soon I can see somebody bursting into the forums and going "OHMAGAWDGUYS! Look at the star image! I can see the Starbucks logo! It's all obvious now! If we go to Starbucks.com and sign up for the mailing list, we'll get a clue! I'm sure the Double Chocolate Mocha has something to do with it! IT'S A CONSPIRACY!"

Coincidence? I think not.

Sorry, we've already confirmed that the Glyph aligns perfectly with the Starbucks logo. They're going to start accepting job applications on the next lunar cycle.

And the R stands for "RAWR. I IS T3H ARK AI." Not "Reclaimer." We believe that Starbucks was secretly run by AR, which explains the sudden drop in stock value when AR was "Sterilized"

That's right. Everyone who did or did not play ILB is a complete n00b and should go back to not answering payphones.

Now, back on the subject of playing "Stairway to Heaven" backwards to look for clues...

Clearly, this is analogous to AR's sterilization (Or his suffering, if you will) implying that we're not up against the covenant forces like the last ARG, but the armies of Hell themself.

Also of not is that I was playing Stairway to Heaven on Frets on Fire last night. Clearly, Bungie planned this. Someone ought to decompile the entire game for clues.

Sure. Sure. If you take a look at the picture on post #1 here... http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19792 Wink

Look to the top left quadrant where I skillfully filtered out the noise and reinfiltrated the pixels to bring out the image of 343 Guity Spark.

With a thorough examination at x7049 zoom you can discern a crystaline etching in the plazglaz of 343's casing. This, in fact, it forms an image of the Starbucks logo that refracts the blue light and causes the bloom effect.
