Ok Im new. I mostly follow these things. This is my first participation in an ARG. While I play Halo and whatnot Im more intrugied by the Halo Universe. These are just some ramblings Ive put together since the server unlock.

I was thinking to myself while reading through all the information, the Halo's are designed to eradicate life. Life that can support the flood. It destroys nothing else, just biomass on a grand scale. My question is how. How does it vaporize that much stuff. Something like EMP? And now that MC has destroyed one and neutralized another can the floods food source ever be completely destroyed?

Another point. Assuming the Forerunners created the flood, being the genius's they are, dont you think they would have a more efficent way to combat it other then vaporizing all the life in the universe? And if you know you cant create something to destroy it why keep it around? Whats the point?

Firing the halo's once obviously failed. Why? Why did it fail. It did fire as evident by the transcript. It obviously destroyed alot of critters. A. What survived to feed the flood the first time. or B. Did someone or something release the flood again out of a containment area? C. If the halo's where originally research facilities for the flood why would you need to research something you created?

Whew. Just some ponderings. Take them for what they are I suppose.

Don't worry it can't harm me, I'm a genius! I don't need to wear a Class 12 combat skin, I'M a genius! Oh wait it went 28 Days Later on me and got into my bloodstream. Now I'm a Flood host who knows all of the pass codes and secrets to this research facility. It's time to infect everyone else and find a ship.

The Forerunner didn't want to activate the rings again, so they spent the time analyzing the Flood to find another way to kill them (you can see where they were held in giant glass cages in the level Guilty Spark).

I like your answers however you missed one vital piece. Why did the original firing of the Halo's fail?

the firing didn't fail, the problem is that flood infection forms (and possible Gravemind) were kept around for study and the Halos themselves appear to be safe ground. The flood was released by the Covenant in their misguided attempt to initiate the Great Journey
