I wondered about the Mother Schrijvertje, or lack there of.
I still keeping thinking back to the genesis of this - the nomoreparents website. The overall thematic link was that of filicide and solar flares but the emphasis, even the name implied that the children were the malign ones not the parents.
We based all our assumptions that Hendler was a villian simply because Lachlan Murdoch didn't talk of him fondly but Lachlan isn't Lachlan so all of that has to be discounted (could 'M' be Mother?)
What if Hope is the sinister figure in all this?

i get the impression from the videos she left her father for whatever i dont know but i did find some birdcall sites im gonna start checkin out

The birds seem to have a black head, an orangy/red beak and a white "mask" across the eyes. Anyone know an ornithologist?

Okay, I got some bad news. My cousin the ornithologist is on vacation at the time; I can send it to her, but I can't guarantee that it will be soon. My suggestion is to go on with the investigation and if you simply get stumped, she'll get it when she gets back, mmkay?

Plant life is just aviary decoration, I think, to make the birds feel more at home. The worrying is about her dad's forgetfulness, I think. Perhaps we should ask him about the birds on his blog? But asking about them implies we heard about them somewhere else, and he'll know it'll be his daughter who told us.

Plenty of articles about the solar flares. I browsed NASA archives for something to fit in with the rest. I must admit I haven't even read all of them completely.

Yes, there's some argument about when exactly the next huge solar storm will come.

I sympathize with Fizz. This all started with hidden messages from kids whose parents had gone crazy due to some solar storms, in the same way werewolves are influenced by the moon. Then Hendler came along, saying solar flares aren't really as dangerous as the media wants us to believe. Then his daughter comes along, who doesn't seem to be involved with the science angle of this at all. And somewhere in the middle are M (Lachlan Murdoch) and DJ, who first brought the others' blog spots to our attention but who have been freakishly silent ever since. It's like somebody threw three boxes of 1000-piece puzzles together.

Well, on her MySpace profile she did say not to tell her dad about it, because he had found her old site and was going through it and she didn't like it. But we can't really tell him where she is because, well, we don't know where she is ourselves, do we? She's on a trip, she stayed in a motel, but that's it. Hendler is new to the internet, as he says in his blog, so he might not be able to track her down the way we did. Telling him about her, leading him to her sites might scare her off and prevent her from posting new stuff. And then where does that leave us? But as Fizz said, that might be exactly what we have to do for our next step to lead anywhere at all.

but since we dont know where she is then we cant tell him? rite?only that weve made contact?and wanna make sure the birds are ok??poor birds.side note they used to cannaries to sniff coal mines and whatnot for harmfull gases..SNAP..maybe she knows about the flares keept the birds as an early warning.


ps. would it hurt to ask dj or lachland about the birds probably the latter

Well, since one of us has already posted to Hendler that we know where his daughter is, I suppose there's no need to dangle that carrot more for the time-being. He'll either act on it or not. Let's see! I do find that Instant Message "move" to be interesting -- although it could easily have been someone OOG playing around. No way to tell, really.

I've tried to start up a conversation with her about the birds, and perhaps I can eek in a sentence or two about WHERE she is and WHY she's there, but that all depends on whether the responds.

Stumped about what to do next...
