I vaguely remembered something that looked like doodles/2.jpg, so I went searching. It appeared on a page that linked off the site where enaxor found the hebrew calender image.

Here's the page - the image is about 2/3 of the way down:

http://www.goroadachi.com/etemenanki/endgame-2-p1.htm

Or just the image, if you'd prefer:

http://www.goroadachi.com/etemenanki/eg2-sundisk.jpg

I don't know what it means, but it's obviously a clue of some sort.

Yes, the daily telegraph (UK) has that as well in the enlarged picture:

-edit-

Twice now he has mentioned groups of people, messy people and grumpy people.

Grumpy

Do you think mentioning grumpy twice in one message is a clue?

I think it is our friend John's way of giving gb a shoutout Smile

I am certain that the weenie is Becker, not you grumpy my boy.

In the first time line John Baxter called us the "smart blue and brown people" it could be filtering back into his awareness. If we could just find a way to get in contact with him. both the minesweeper and jbaxter addies at nru.us are getting bounced. The only other contact point we have is the yahoo id of xover222. I'm hoping he will show up soon - but I am beginning to suspect that the only time we get to talk to him is when he is off his rocker.

am I the only one to notice that the Nebra disk is the red backround of the Hebrew/Mayan/Zodiac ring thingy? or am I about to get uber-trouted?

Oh god, I wish it was. But I've tried rotating orb.jpg, mirroring it, etc., and I just don't think it's the same shapes. Orb.jpg only has three main shapes, and the Nebra disk has more. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it.

Actually I think Bagsbee is right. I see the shapes and the dots. Maybe this great black and white image of the orb that Addie created will make it easier to see the shapes.

Confused I've uploaded both orb.jpg and the disk, with the light areas highlighted (with my l337 MS Paint sk1llz), and no matter how much I squint I can't make them match up. If this is a thing then I'll go for it, but I just can't reconcile it.

Scrivener, you are looking at the wrong shapes on the orb picture. Look at the black shapes. You can see the black creasent moon on the right side, the sun boat at the bottom and in the middle/lefthand side would be the sun or full moon.....but it is pretty much obscured by the large splash of paint.

I found a website that shows the corrosion on the disk perfectly matches with the red paint on the orb picture (man am I gald I listed it in the puzzle thread so I can list it again here), check this site:
http://www.eso.org/gen-fac/meetings/ekstasy2003/scheibe.html

You want to look at the third picture down, which I am including here for reference.

I agree with bagsbee and dash, the background or orb.jpg is the nebra sky disk. The cresent moon (on the right) and the sun ship (curve near the bottom) match up almost perfectly. Some of the stars also match up and the chip on the upper left also match. The sun (or full moon) is totally obscure on orb.jpg though.

Personally, without 2.jpg, I never would've notice that the orange background of orb.jpg is supposed to be the nebra sun disk. Hell, even with 2.jpg, I didn't notice until bagsbee caught it. Good catch!!!
