hm. well if it weren't for new regulations about ARG promoting a product, the meta tags would make me think this would be more an 'extended experience' than a real ARG...

Quote:
<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="Iron Man Movie, Jon Favreau, IronMan, Marvel Comics, Marvel, Tony Stark, Stark Iron Works, StarkIronWorks, super hero">
<META NAME="description" CONTENT="Iron Man: Coming to theaters in 2008 from Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment, based on Marvel's best-selling Iron Man comic book character">

no curtain here folks...

let's hope there's more to come with this. I was a huge fan of Iron Man when I collected comics (even though they were not all that valuable or popular). It would be nice if they could 'reignite the magic' here

just to clarify, there is no regulation that says an ARG cannot promote a product, with or without any visible disclaimers. The regulation alluded to above is to prevent someone from blogging or posting to a community as if they were an average citizen with a personal preference for a product when in fact they are a paid shill *cough* spokesperson, unless they disclose that fact, especially in cases where they go beyond merely recommending the product and actively tell people to buy it.

ah yes, small, but important distinction. Thanks for clarifying. I hadn't heard of it until recently, I was rough on the facts.

On that note, I also found that tonystark.com is also registered to Paramount Pictures Corporation, but under a different IP range / hosting company, and parked by Godaddy. I've tried a few other domains, and spent some time searching for a good reverse registrant lookup - the best I could find only had their database updated in December last year, so doesn't include anything recent.

And the tonystark.com domain is hosted on an IP used by 1.1M other sites (according to domaintools.com). Not gonna go searching through that list to find domains related to Iron Man Razz

But that's 2 sites so far, but tonystark.com has no content as of yet.
