Fizz, do you have a link to that story by any chance? Sounds like too many coincidences to not mean anything.

Your wish is my command marnut http://www.wwu.edu/depts/skywise/legends.html I spent an age divulging myself in this rich and fascinating theology and came away seeing so many recurring motifs of parental disharmony, birds, the sun deity, astronomical influences and such like that I certainly left with a feeling that there's many a thematic link between our mystery and Native American Cosmology. Me hopes so as it is such a rich and beautiful body of myths it would be nice to immerse ourselves in it.

Mcgritts you are so right about the timing of the updates and messages, they seem to occur at the same time each day namely 4.00am GMT and whatever that converts to for your time zone. Rarely ever does it divert from this pattern. So much so I could set my clock by it. Guess even poor Hope has to go to work like the rest of us so does her updates before and after. UFO stuff is mighty interesting would suit the Mulder fetishist in me if it were to go down that route.

Also been wondering about the titles visible in Hendler's blog, a few of them at least have been identified as song titles and Shoulda Woulda Coulda had a real resonance with me. It happens to be a song by Beverley Knight. The song, written about the break up of her long term relationship because she decided to put her career first, became Knight's first top 10 single in UK. Whilst it may be of no importance I guess it reinforces our theories of breakups, disharmony and seperation.
Who knows, maybe nothing?

Not sure if it helps any but i found Hope's Location on Google Earth

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h252/youget_mehigh/hopesloc.jpg

The Blue highlighted area is of the Observatory area, the blue lines are the roads seen in the video.
The top road is Audio Rd and the Bottom is Video Rd, where they meet is RedBox Rd.

In between the roads is the antenna array and the two white towers are just a little south southwest of the observatory.

Oh yea, So Hope likes sunrises Huh, ? I found this maybe we should show it to her.

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h252/youget_mehigh/mount-wilson-overlook-sunrise.jpg

Its a pic overlooking the city below Mount Wilson during the "Pink Hour" lol. Maybe that will get a response out of her.

Wow, Fizz. That website is so cool. I will take some more time to explore when it's not very late and I have to get up to go to work. Rolling Eyes The way that all the stories are connected to there respective celestial objects... I could definitely spend some time looking this over. If I weren't such a science dweeb I'd love to study some more mythology.

However, studying Native American mythology and religion always makes me feel like a jerk what with colonization and basically the displacement and genocide of many North American societies. Ugh. Even though my ancestors definitely had nothing to do with it... It still creeps me out that it happened.

Bedtime!

Goodmorning guys,

A new day but I don't see anything new. No reaction to any of our messages from neither the doc nor Hope. Guess they're busy.

Haven't done much myself after jotting down those lyrics (which was actually pretty easy - once I found out which song it was, you could look up the lyrics and compare it to the audio. Only had one problem with the Dixie Chicks song, the shot where you see the phone booth. I just couldn't understand it and it didn't seem to fit the lyrics, but I got it eventually - after about a dozen replays!)

Next to the themes, I must say Hope has good taste in music. I never actually heard the Dixie Chicks before, but this song sounds really cool. And the Diana Ross song, while older, has a nice ring to it as well and for some reason reminded me of Tarantino's "Jackie Brown". Do you think she was simply listening to the radio or would she have had a tape or cd on?

Since there were no new comments, I went to Hope's MySpace and complimented her on her new haircut. Nobody had done that yet, so it was way overdue because, you got to admit, there's something about her, don't you think? I wish we saw more of her in her videos.

P.S. yougetmehigh, could you shrink your avatar because now I have to scroll sideways all the time to see who wrote which post.
EDIT: Hey, now your avatar is completely gone!

P.P.S. I found a webcam on top of the solar tower. http://www.astro.ucla.edu/%7Eobs/towercam.htm First one to spot Hope gets an icecream!

holy crap guys, nice work! this is getting exciting.

3 new posts up on Hendler's blog!

not sure what exactly we're supposed to be doing right now but i think fizz you said that you thought the blog titles were worth checking out... are they all songs? anagrams?

ps: anyone think hope's post title "port in a storm" is having a deeper meaning... since we keep being sent to links about solar flares and solar storms... so much to think about... brain... tired...

Finally we have been given a task. It's a little operation I like to call: "Dazzle the Doc"!

Not many details in this assignment. Just post favorite solar images. I put up this movie. Hope he likes it.

What does he mean by "see if you can surprise me"? Does he just want us to collect some cool images, or does he want us to say something? For instance, what happens if we send images from a super liberal site? Will that annoy him? What kind of images would surprise someone who studies this field? Question

HI NOMOREPARENTERS Laughing

Agreed! It does seem our aim is to stupend Dr. Hendler with our choice of solar images. I believe this may be our currency and my gut instinct tells me that if we are successful in our task we will be given something in exchange. It's also interesting that Hendler aludes to getting back on track at a time when many of us had expressed our confusion as the mystery moved away from the initial themes depicted on nomoreparents.com. It seems to me our Unforum activity is being closely monitored. *Waves* Very Happy

It may be worth examining Hendler's choice of blog titles Phantom, some of them are songs though I believe that was simply to establish an identifiable link between his blog and Hope: namely a shared interest in Marvin Gaye. I cannot turn anything up of interest for his current titles though but you may have more success with this.

WILD RANDOM RANT AND MUSINGS TIME: I have to confess I had expected a 'little trip' to happen. I've been thinking that what we are witnessing here is the prelude to nomoreparents.com. This is the story unfolding before our eyes that was hinted at in the cryptic messages hidden on the site. A devastated world, rampaging neighbours, people in hiding and more importantly the death of a father or child. For that death to occur Hendler would have to get at Hope or vice versa. I believe we may be about to see a murder take place. Shocked

PS I'm loving the webcam. Watching it far too much I think.
PSS Loving this whole mystery even more.

Mokey I'm thinking images not words. Many of us have posted replies that haven't really been productive. I think this is a visual task. Might be wrong though.

I don't seem to be able to post actual links in the comments, the url tags aren't accepted.

I "borrowed" the gif Lachlan posted on MySpace. Shouldn't that stir something up?

Perhaps an image from the solar tower at Mount Wilson?

You don't suppose there's a hidden image out there somewhere which we have to find? That's like the haystack's needle.

And, would we only get one try? Then I already wasted my chance Embarassed

I've wasted my chance too my friend though I have made the perfect choice I believe in accordance with being true to myself. He will either love it or hate it but it was a choice from the heart and hope that much is understood.

I'm really guessing that this is not a cryptic thing but a real and genuine attempt on Hendler's part to see something of us in our choices. I think the choices need to be less calculated, less disingenuous and more open and celebratory. I believe we have been responded to with greater zest when we are simply being ourselves. I didn't get very far with the 'villain' of the piece act Rolling Eyes

Watch me get it so wrong Laughing
