Uh... didn't we have to have the correct answer each day to progress? I thought I did. If you didn't get the correct answer, you weren't allowed to move on. So everybody eligible to answer a question on the last day had to have had all the questions right other than the final one. So I seriously doubt that that was the problem. Rolling Eyes

Potential winners MAY be required....

Some people won't qualify, some people just won't bother!

That's an interesting point. Will they do that? In a typical sweepstakes with a good amount of money or prize value, this is done via registered mail and requires a notarized signature, etc. Usually to prove you are who you say you are, and were eligible to participate (i.e. over the legal minimum age, US citizen or legal resident, etc). Wonder how they will handle it now?

 YAY! I WON!

WOO HOO!!! $4.16! I'M PSYCHED! But I have a question...so only 6,013 people won, right? Would they be allowed to make a game out of Sonia's disappearance to try and lower the number of winners? I mean, instead of 6,013 people getting $4.16, do you all think that they might proceed with the game and let's say 1000 people got the answers right on Sonia's disappearance, each winner would win $25.00? Just wondering if that would be allowed or not. Congrats to all who won!!! Have a great day! Very Happy

Algoers:

I think that's exactly what they're gonna do. They're gonna push forward us winners and lower the winner numbers to have less people hate Applebee's and Suzuki.

My guess is that the $25,000 prize is still good, and that we will receive our $4.16. The next contest will have its own prize, maybe $50,000 if we're lucky, and it will be the Suzuki portion of the contest (notice that in this half, there was only one blatant advertisement for Suzuki, and that was for Day 1's puzzle. The rest was over-the-top Applebee's advertisement.)

Prize money?

So we will all only win a little over $4? I don't understand that, and my reason behind that is what follows:

Since 6,013 people won to share the $25,000 grand prize, then should we all be guarenteed at least $1,000? Think of it this way... $25,000 - $6,013 = $18, 987. Then from there $18,987 - $6,013 = 12,974. Then from there $12,974 - $6,013 = $6,961. From there $6,961 - $6,013 = $984.

With that done, should we all get around $4,000, give or take a few? If I am doing something wrong, please inform me... Anyway, it was something to think about.

Have a great day everyone.

 ???

Shouldn't you be dividing?? I'm truly lousy at math, but you're using 6,013 as $$.

Now I'm confused, somebody set us straight.

...best. math. evar.

Wouldn't it be nice if it were true.

What you did was subtract $1 for each person a few times.

$25,000 - $6,013 = $18, 987 (+$1 each... $1 * 6013)
$18,987 - $6,013 = $12,974 (+$2 each... $2 * 6013)
$12,974 - $6,013 = $6,961 (+$3 each... $3 * 6013)
$6,961 - $6,013 = $984 (+$4 each... $4 * 6013)
$984 split among 6013 people = $0.164

Thus - each person get $4.16

$25,000 divided 6,013 ways = 25000 / 6013 = 4.16

not sure where you're getting $1000 each.

6,013 people getting at least $1000 each = $6,013,000
They're not giving $6M away in prize money Razz

would be nice, but no...

I certainly think it will be in our best interest if they do DO that...one can hope!

correct answer, no email

I answered with the general population here, grant tenbrook 8 north cherry street, etc etc. and haven't received my email yet. Nothing in bulk or spam filters. I'm having a hard time waiting, even for 4.16 LOL.

That math makes my head hurt. $1000 each? Only if only 25 people won!

Government math?

Wow...and I thought I was bad at math..... Are you sure you don't work for the government? Laughing

No, it's $25,000 divided by 6,013 which equals $4.157, round up to $4.16.

I was still oddly pleased to receive a "winner notification" even without the big payoff. Laughing Actually there's less winners than I thought there would be. Sounds like the next challenge will be more complicated. And I'm sure that many who were dissatisfied won't participate, so maybe the payoff will be better.

well courtTV?

I got it right also and no email. I really do like that math equaling 1000 bucks a piece much better than 4.16 though!
