actually, i'm starting to think it might not actually be anything. I'll keep searching and post my findings.

I hear it, but I can't determine if its actually a voice or not.
Personally, I'm not sure if its relevant, but its still a good find!

Maybe I'm just crazy, but it sounds like the "glyph mouse-over" sound has changed, and the "click" in the background is the old "glyph mouse-over" sound. What think?

I was also thinking that the mouse-over sound changed.

I had my volume on way too high when I played that audio clip. Scared me and I heard a clear voice in the background.
I lack the software to play it in reverse and dont really know where to find it either but its clearly someone speaking.
Stood the hairs on my neck right up.

A quick note... the click obviously is similar to the clicks of the "mouse over glyph" noises, all of which are different pitches. The new click sounds closest to the mouse over sound that goes along with the slide which lost its metadata...don't know what that means, and I can't tell if they are the same click or not, i'm a lil drunk.
Also, if this new click sounds a lot like the other clicks, but isn't the same, it might be indicating we need to investigate the other clicks more closely -- string them together for a word/sentence, who knows... now isn't a good time for me to try it out but later tonight i'll try and look into it.

wow, a click! thank you, bungie! i'm going to sit here for seven hours while I decipher its meaning! my fridge is stocked up, too.. so I shouldn't have any troubles keeping hydrated during this monumental task.

Has anyone listened to the click through surround sound speakers? I just listened through my surround sound headphones and it sounds to me like the click is moving around in an orbit opposite the spin of the server, starting from the forward right.

In fact, in this very thread we've had that discussion.
Also, try to refrain from posting the same thing to multiple threads. You posed this exact same question in the other thread.

Sorry, now that I read what I posted, I can tell I wasn't really clear on what I meant (blame a nasty no sleep/cold/cold medicine combo). It seemed from what I read that everyone had just been listening through a normal stereo speaker/headphone setup, and I was wondering if anyone had listened with surround sound instead, and that the ping seemed to be orbiting around my head when I listened to it with my setup.
Also sorry about the post in another thread, that is the cause of sloppy copy pasting/editing when I realized that the question about the ping would be better in this thread.
EDIT: GAH! Edit for clearness again. I really should go to bed.

I just ran a reverse, and there is definatly a voice in there. I can hear what sounds like 'Evil'. I'll see if I can get this hosted.

Didn't we have a puzzle during ILB which at one point we thought could possibly be a barcode? That's sort of what the waveform pic thebruce posted reminds me of.
