[Puzzle??] Do You Grok the Mispelled Letters? Ten threads slammed into one I know this has been talked about separately but I believe they are the same topic.
I've been knocking this around for a few days and have finally had a chance to work on it. All that I've tried has failed and I won't have time to get back to it for days.
If you get it to work, please take your first opportunity to "affiliate" yourself with the Reclaimers and send the address of our site www.openfish.info/s/ If you don't know what I'm talking about please go to this thread before hitting that link- http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=341836#341836
About 2/3 of the way down this post...
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19670
...there is a list of the spelling errors on the SOTA site.
The final summation is:
'dndsndp srdnsreeateotoa~mde--
From this you can take-
Addend to Address (meaning: add to address)
This leaves us with- 'snp nreto~me--
So I add the remaining letters to the "pdf" DoYouGrok address. Which gives us-
'snp nreto~me--doyougrok
From this we can take-
Respond to Me and You Grok
This leaves us with- 'n~--
The remaining characters could somehow represent "and" or " 'n " as in "Rock 'n Roll" but without them you can get somethings that don't work but are inspiring-
You-RespondtoMe-Grok @ societyoftheancients.com
YouGrok-RespondtoMe @ societyoftheancients.com
RespondtoMe-YouGrok @ societyoftheancients.com
It goes on and on I suppose (with the "-"s, without them) but what of the left over characters? It's entirely too tedious for me at this point but if you get it, remember-
If they respond, tell them you are with the Reclaimers at www.openfish.info/s/ ok?

I took your idea one step further... and I came up with this:

Pay special intention to the bolded part that I have picked out.
Any thoughts?

Is this not a typical response? i'm not a techie. can anyone else tell us about that?
Edit: Is that saying that "respondtome" is not the proper identification?

LoL!!! yougrok.com is a website. looks like a puzzle (edit: unrelated to IRIS) on the front page.

It is? Wow, I had no idea.
Is it perhaps another step?

No. I don't think so. It seems to be a front page for a series of companies or something. It looks too complicated to be for an ARG.

Bummer.
It seemed so promising too.

As yougrok.com says, 'to grok is to fully understand', so I think we can assume that it was taken from the same source, even if it isn't actually part of the ARG.

Sorry but I believe those have been tried. If there is a way to reach them through these methods, I'm sure that they would have a response ready.

The 'n~-- is slightly suspect. The ~ (tilde) is used for user specific webpages on some servers. So if you had a user account named "moo ", your website would be at website.com/~moo . Maybe we're looking for a web address?

I had that same thought, and I'm trying various incarnations right now.
http://www.societyoftheancients.com/~grok
http://www.societyoftheancients.com/~yesIgrok
http://www.societyoftheancients.com/~doyougrok
Though I think the 'n' is important...
Add to address doesn't necessarily mean email address, it could mean web address
