At first I thought how out of character the Wimbledon post was.

Here we have Hendler, a very stoic intellectual with no knowledge of or interest in movies and books (except for textbooks), with no noticeable hobbies (even though he mentioned this blog was for his thoughts and hobbies), who's constantly talking about some work he has to do (he's even going on a business trip, about which we never heard of again by the way), which I thought made him a stranger to the world of regular human pastimes.

Then suddenly he has time to watch and review a tennis match?

I must admit the first time I read his post, I concentrated on the mention of Henin and thought it was some sort of reply to me mentioning somewhere that I'm from Belgium. Yes, I do admit that sometimes I can get too self-centered But of course if that was really his intention, he'd made the entire post about Henin, not about Jankovic.

Perhaps it's only a means to make him more human, to make us connect with him more. For some time now I've been harboring some kind of premonition that Hendler is going to disappear around the time Hope gets home, and it'll be our job to help her find him again - an assignment we might not immediately jump on if we didn't like the guy. But this is all speculation on game mechanics and shouldn't even be mentioned.

I've been wondering about mom as well but haven't yet dared ask either Hope or the Doc about her. Might be considered too forward. But who knows, you might get a reply McGritts.

"Orbitas" being used in the source code of the jhendler.com site was the perfect way to let us know it was certainly ingame. In an ARG I played two years ago, each website that had been designed specifically for the game had a similar identification mark. The Lachlan Space has it as well, albeit in the form of an anagram (a bit sor). Outside of these two, I haven't seen it anywhere. If the owls page was ingame, then they would have to have put "orbitas" in there somewhere. Same goes for the illyrian and cornerstoretech sites. I could be wrong, but I thought it was commonly known as simple courtesy to do this.

I've contemplated mentioning the mother but cannot find a natural and non intrusive way of doing it. Maybe it needs someone with a less bombastic approach than mine.

The orbitas anagram has also been used by DJ, he alerted us to Lachlan's myspace spage by coding his reply on the normoreparents blog with Abs riot. I guess it is nothing more than a simple ingame system of identification but creatively my mind goes all sorts of places

Bloody hell Mcgritts that some flipping odd message.
I have tried ROT and Vignere and you name what else but cannot decode it into anything sensible. I assume that if you were being sent something ingame a definite attempt would be made to allow you to identify it as such, the PM's must be aware of the amout of Spam we all receive in our inboxes.
All the same, there is a topic for 'could this be a trailhead or just spam' somewhere on the forum, might be worth dropping it their way for some of the more experienced decoders to take a look.

Two new videos from Hope. She's in Palm Springs visiting an "auntie". Yet at the same time I receive an affirmative reply to my question whether the Doc is the only family she has. She also says her mom is gone.

In the first video she's complaining about the hot weather. Once more she mentions how good it is to be away from her dad, but she can't ever do anything right for him. And while in her previous video she said she was thinking about going home again, yet didn't know exactly when that would be, this time she no longer seems to be all too fond of that idea.

Second video is of her dog. I'm sure the name is important, which is why McGritts jumped on the Sky Princess rollercoaster. No clues as far as I can see.

Hi Guys,
I'm beginning to wonder if the dog is slightly more significant than first assumed. I checked the site that Hope links to from her blog on the off chance that an image did materialise of her puppy but I can't find anything new. It's hard to search the site and have spent an age checking but everything looks puppy-less. I have tried numerous princess related searches on myspace, bebo, xanga etc but to no avail.

I watched the videos and was slightly confused to be honest, somewhat contradictory in tone to what we have seen before in much the same way Hendler left me a little open mouthed with his seeming change in tone with regards to his missing daughter. Getting less sure by the minute
I did my usual thing of watching the videos fram by frame in a video editing tool but alas nothing is hidden.
Still haven't had a reply from Marshal which is a shame.

Here's hoping some of the 'professionals' can uncover something in Mcgritts mysterious email

Look at the "received" line in McGritts e-mail. You'll notice "lubpth-t070150.ttuhsc.edu". When you turn that into a url (www.ttuhsc.edu) you'll see it comes from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. After that, I'm as lost as the rest of you.

The icanhascheezburger-site or whatever it's called has a mission statement to stop puppy mills and to rescue pets from shelters. That's what Hope did. I know it's not an answer to why she would post a link to the place. Has anyone ever approached her about the subject?

Now this is one helluva mundo coincidence:

Her last video of her dog has the description "give a dog a bone".

I googled this and came up with the site www.gadab.org, a quality of life program for long-term shelter dogs held at San Francisco's Animal Care & Control.

There's a brown dog actually named "Hope" in the header (4 months old).

As I have mentioned I am no technical expert but I have done some probing with the email Mcgritts received. It contains the following "mta1-7.us4.outblaze.com" which whilst meaning absolutely nothing to me is a component of numerous emails reported to spam and trojan awareness sites. The ISP number contained in the email also features on a few sites for the same reason but as I explained I am playing with things I know nothing about.

Fascinating stuff about the pet care links, something I had missed. I was beginning to wonder if Hope was giving us a clue in the lyrics of knick-knack paddy-whack but I can't see anything within the rhyme that's appropriate.
