Viewing Page Info in Firefox?
Has anyone tried....

Viewing SOTA's website in firefox with page info? I watched it for a period of time and have noticed that the expiration dates of the pages extend to integral dates.

The original expiration date was for July 1st, while now, the new expiration date is July 4th with some random time attached. Anyone have any idea as to why this is?

-Thanks.[/img]

This has been discussed in other threads. Please make sure you read all the information before posting.

Page expiration dates relate to cookies and will always be for a time sometime in the future after you have visited the page. No information here.

Sorry, but... Trout

This has been suggested several times now.

The Expires HTTP header is the server telling the browser the point when the page should be removed from its cache. That's what you're seeing in Firefox.

As thebruce said so concisely in this post:

Quote:
it's all standard html and server code. No need to investigate. INPUTE=hidden is just a way for an html form to store information in the page without it being visible, but still get submitted with the form. VIEWSTATE is an ASP.net property used by the web server to verify validity of the form when it's submitted and give some added security.

I would love to know the inspiration for these questions about VIEWSTATE. Maybe because of the hint in the source code for one puzzle, people are now viewing the source pages more often?
