Sunny, I think (correct me if I'm wrong guys) the original plan was to hold it in Canada this time, since the last two were held in America. The ARG world is a global organization, so Canada wants its fair share of revenue generating visitors. Besides I think someone said it best with two little words:
Exchange Rate
Otherwise, I think Chicago had the next highest batch of supporters.
I understand it is a global game and as I said I didnt know all the pros and cons.
Here is a website for exchange rate, as of today our dollar is worth $1.27 Canadian.

I was just talking to Curtis about asking the same question, BUT I definitely want to go to Vancouver, to meet Stewart and the gang from GNE!
Edit to include: isn't that haunted house in Seattle?

Actually, this occurred to me as well. And since the exchange rate ain't that great (much to my surprise) and crossing the border has gotten to be a big-assed pain, I say we consider it.

Guys, Vancouver is a fantabulous city with amazing vistas. Lotsa waterfront, mountains in the background, ferries to islands, big downtown . . . Really truly it is worth a visit. Seattle is pretty and all but frankly smaller and not nearly as dramatic. And don't dis the exchange rate - stuff truly is cheaper there! Unless they import it from the US, the prices are not increased to offset the exchange rate. It's like shopping at a 30% discount!

I'm not against Vancouver, I just thought it might be easier since we're (almost) all landing in Seattle. I still want to go to Vancouver! I've already mentioned it to the GNE people that we were coming up there.

I've never been outside the US in my life. This is a great chance for me to break my boundaries.

ready to go! OK, reservations made, I'm just counting down the days. I'm arriving in Seattle at 4:20pm on the 15th of July. I just have 1 questions about car rentals, are we going to be able to take US rental cars into Canada? I know that down here, most places don't want you to even take them out of state.

Car Rentals Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I have been on a "real life" mission. I will be home in about 6 weeks.
In my experience "Enterprise Car Rental" has no problem with me using their cars to travel all over Europe and Asia.
So I doubt they will have much concern with the cars going from SEATAC to Vancouver. I would contact them just to make sure.

Rental cars go back and forth between Vancouver and Seattle all the time. Even one-way since both places do sufficient business to warrant it.

As Nash has mentioned, I also used Enterprise taking a car through Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. They don't have a problem with it, just make a mention of it when you pick up the car, that way they can tell you about what to watch for from the Guards at the border crossings.

rental cars From my online searches, I've found a few places that let you take cars across the border. Enterprise has nothing available at the airport on the days we would be needing a car. (Has everyone already rented everything they have?)
So on to searching different hotels and finding a good rate.

I checked into group rates using the # of people who are listed as attending, but we're app short of the requisite limit for said discount.

how many is an "app"? You probably don't want to count us until we've booked the flight, but two of us will also be needing a place to stay in Vancouver. Is it too soon to have a web page for listing arrival times and who is sharing a car from Seattle?

An app is an apparently. If someone wants to set up a site, that'd be good. If not, I'll see if I can rig something up next week.
