Interview with Michael Smith Hi Guys!
I thought I'd let you know that we've got a special Perplex City podcast this week which features an hour long interview with Michael Smith, CEO of Mind Candy.
He answers questions like 'why?' and 'when will it return?' and also shares his memories of Perplex City.
You'll be able to find it from tomorrow (Friday 22/06/2007) here:
http://www.podcast.perplexorum.com
it'd be great to hear your feedback on the show too. Feel free to post here, or on the blog itself
Edit - MikeyJ - worthy of general updates I reckon

Sorry! Forgot to mention it! Asking for feedback's risky - this lot are ruthless

There's also the second podcast available - wistfully entitled Memories (you missed a trick with a theme tune there - I hope you were all at least wearing cat-suits), which is available now.

Now I can say that we tried to work our way through as many of the questions on the Questions for Mind Candy thread as possible - so hopefully some answers for you there, though I don't think we got all of them. It was a fairly free-flowing session. Can't bring myself to listen to it yet, have butterflies

Yeah, many thanks all concerned. It was a very interesting interview, and nice to hear that Michael still has a lot of warm feelings for the genre and the players. It'd be great if a 'clue book' does appear.

I actually fFelt bad fFor the poor guy at a couple points. You guys really dragged him over the coals, didn't you! And he's such a professional, answering every question very keenly without getting too fFlustered at all. You all put fForward a lot of tough questions, and got a lot of great information. Well done, gang.

I think it goes with the title.
If you take on the title of CEO, you have to be able to make the tought decisions... but you also have to be able to answer the tough questions.
Great job by Michael and great job by all the interviewers. Alot of insightful information to be had.

Good - though that wasn't really our intention and we'd look a whole lot less professional (hah!) if I posted the chat log where we poked each other into asking questions - my contribution mostly consisted of "I've just been handed some risotto - ooh there's rice stuck in my teeth"
I think he got off lightly, particularly when we ended up answering questions! But it was good of Michael to face up to us.

Actually, speaking of the question he asked, I found myself disagreeing with your answer. Personally, I wouldn't have minded the waiting so very much if they had done a better job of communicating with us and telling us what was going on...

Someone needs to post a transcript of the interview for the people who can't listen to it.

I can't remember my answer to be honest though I agree with you.

Excellent idea. I'm snowed under at the moment, but I might hack away at it at some point. Please someone leap in. The hard thing will be telling me, Ben and Yembles apart - we have the same telephone voice it seems, though I'm the one with the really quiet microphone (sorry)
