I got hit with a fit of nostalgia last night, and went off to play Halo PC. Right in the midst of the level 343 Guilty Spark (The one where you first encounter the flood), I couldn't help but notice that above the doors of the area, similar glyphs were everywhere. (I'll go back and get screenshots tonight after work if someone doesn't beat me to it.)

Ah, the library. The script of that level could be important. It's been posted before.

The script in that god-awful level may in fact be important. But I was referring to the level before that, where the flood break their containment. Similar glyphs are everywhere (Round glyphs, composed of geometric lines and circles). I'm not sure it has much, if any, significance, but perhaps other glyphs like those may show up. Besides which, it lends credence to the idea that AR, or at least the websites, have an anchor in Forerunner history.

Forerunner glyphs are a lot of place in halo 1. Wasn't there some quote about Halo CE being important for the Halo 3 story? Or something along those lines?

If you look around, there's already an image file with all known glyphs collected together. Mind you, it's not that random-ass "Forerunner alphabet" file some goober posted last week. It's just a collection of all observed glyphs from Halo 1.

Starimage1 - a star map showing the Flood's point of origin

I believe the flood were actually created by the forerunners. I do remember reading it somewhere, possibly in Ghosts of Onyx and as it says in Ghosts of Onyx he had Bungie check every detail.

Robert A Heinlein is referenced on the SOTA website. This is a Google Maps link to Heinlein's home in California. It has a really suspicious shape. It's not exactly the glyph, but how many houses are round? And how many people who designed their own round house are then referenced in an ARG? There could be something here, but I have no idea what.

Heinlein's House

Somehow I doubt that Heinlein designed his house specifically to play a role in an ARG 55 years later.

No, perhaps not. However, someone in another thread has seen a number of other clues pointing toward Heinlein. Thread here:

Have all of the original glyphs, including the one sent by email, been checked for stego content?

Trout me if this has already been covered, I haven't been keeping as close an eye on the forums as I would have liked, but has anyone mentioned the glyph variant in the cradle of life comic, you can't see all of it, but it look's like it's the same as AR's to me, and the server 5 video, has it always had that glyph at the end? or is that a recent addition. I am not sure.

Re: all the glyphs - How about the avatars?

Sorry, but with the updated (commandeered) avatar for AR, I think there was another avatar prior to the glyph? Is there a place to see all of AR's avatar?

I'm thinking the avatars may have some additional relevance, other than to denote the ownership of AR's matrix. As with all avatars, there is always some detailed thought process into choosing an avatar.

In reality, a forum avatar is a pretty trivial thing to bother with if the universe is at stake, so therein lies my thought.

The bruces wiki has both avatars, the original in the character section for ar and the updated one in the story so far section. Here's the link.

Sorry, I thought there was an earlier avatar before the glyph.

Thanks.

technically there was but it was a standard HBO forum avatar that many people use, of the 3D Halo ring projection from the game. Nothing unique or special

Someone look at this.
http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Cortana_on_Autumn.jpg

(sorry didn't know how to post an image)

I'm not saying it is the glyph but it may give us some insight to what the glyph represents. This is a screen shot of a human radar panal from Halo 1.[/url]

Um. Okay. What are we supposed to be looking at?

The radar panel?

I fail to see how that picture is at all relevant.

If you're not saying it is the glyph, what exactly are you saying? What insight could we possibly get from a picture of the Pillar's display and Cortana preening in front of it?
