Used Publisher... found nothing

I opend the above link in Publisher. It is for some kind of mechanical part. I think we are way off on this one but it was worth a try. Keep thinking.

By the way... has anyone heard from JPike???

Waiting...

I emailed Jpike in a personal correspondence 2 days ago and have not received a response as of yet.. (doubt I'm going to)

I think we can assume he's in hiding or Renny has detained him indefinitely.

valvetrim?

why would a band have a website, that they have posted the link to, many many places, but no one can access it? Then it's about welding? For a band? very odd.

LOL

That's why I wanted to know whats in that .Pub file Very Happy
seemed odd to me too..
I'd say keep brute forcing/hacking at the site and the login..

remember: guessing your way into access isn't illegal Surprised

Sidenote: I've known guys that paid under $10 to purchase a domain name (packaged with hosting) for a band but had so little knowledge about what to do with the domain and the file tree that the site was sat there blank. My guess is this is a case of that. -->> http://www.4adora.com/

The allen and chris portman in this band are the same people from the mypace profile a few days ago: http://www.myspace.com/aportman

Not sure whether what this means--whether it is encouraging or discouraging, but it't good info to have.

I'm going to contact him via myspace; I hope this isn't some terrible idea.

When I get back to work, I'll continue beating my head against the long lists of prisons, newspapers, and early 80s bands.

Oh, does and anyone know when the most recent "the story so far" was made?

ETA: this www.myspace.com/allanportman seems far more likely to be our guy. Both portmans (portmen?) live in the houston area; both are involved in music. this one, first mentioned on page 39 by palm, worked at a newspaper in the early 90s and was in a po-mo-ie/alternative-ie band in the 80s. If myspace is the place we find portman, we my want to look at this guy. Starrfire studios, agora, and many other "portman" leads all point to the first, non-newspaper portman (name spelld AllEn) this second one spells his name AllAn, so that might help us keep them straight in conversations).

If anyone's interestd in chasing down the band/prison song/paper lead, remember, the song was from the *early* 80s.

Happy hunting. . . gotta go watch small things explode. Perhaps I can participate a little Very Happy

NEw BLOG POST!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
One Hit Wonders

The St. Kits expo has been uneventful over the past several days, which is probably for the best. No sign of Larry, though. No one that I've run into has heard a thing from him.

Was watching VH-1 in my hotel room this morning - a show on one hit wonders from the 80's - and who should pop up but Spandau Ballet. What memories they brought back! They were on the countdown at Number 6 with "True". That one was OK, but there were other songs from that album that were much better.

I've been thinking of having a more full-featured space on the web, something a little more robust that would support an online newsletter or newspaper. But I don't have any money to spend on that sort of thing. I wonder if my friends up in Allentown know of anything like that that's free?

Back to the beach, for now.[spoiler]

Read No affiliation with Proboards
and
Holy Ground

This audio was particularly interesting: (even though long and boring)

Jade Macalla (the guy who plays Jullian T.) says video doesn't work in his new bar. It has hi-tech surveillance equipment, but doesn't work, unless 700 meters from the bar. And he keeps mentioning how much Lou, that works there, looks like MOBY.

Oh, his wife's name is Hank....who plays Claudia. That's why the cast list was confusing. I thought Hank was a man's name.

I found where Jade was interviewing (hiring) ppl to be part of overwatch, through a SKYPE conference, back in March. Jade is also very interested in ARG's, but overwatch still claims it isn't one....just a story told through many types of media.

Just stuff I found interesting, nothing really useful. Hope everyone had a good holiday!

newspapers

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I had put a newspaper link here. After reading the paper.. and Ranting/retching/feeling spiritually violated I pulled the link.. There is NO WAY the authors of this could want you to read the lifeline newsletter. I suggest others steer clear of it as well.

probably not what were looking for but its a shot

I'll keep looking for promising leads..
