My self and some colleges are investigating an incident that happened in New York on Monday 4th Jan 1897 near the corner of Wall St and Broad St, That resulted in the death of a police officer. As the HCRD is attempting to make a memorial relating to officers that lost there lifes due to crimanal violence we thought that you may have access to some additional information about this event and if not may be mutaly interested in obtaining the information. Any information such as witness reports and police reports regarding this incident would be much appreciated. In particular the name of the witness that was shot at, reports of what the theif was heard yelling and weither the crimanal was eventualy captured or even identified.

To help with the the location of documents surrounding the incedent here is, what we know so far:

-The incident resulted in the deaths of 3 people:
Officer Jeremy Davis
Mr Daniel Holman the 3rd
Mrs Kathleen Holman
-A thief attacked the couple as they left a Deli where they were having lunch. The theif stabbed Mr Holeman in the shoulder. When Mrs Holeman screamed for help the theif shot her with a revolver as the officer arrived on the scene. The theif then shot Officer Davis.
-Witnesses heard the theif yelling at Mr Holeman and one was nearly shot when he approched the thief.
-The only object that we know that were taken was Mr Holeman's Wallet. Although his saphire tietack and cufflinks were left, as was his Dimond lapel pin.
-Partial finger prints were found.

Rose has sent a hard copy of this letter to the HCRD.....to touch bases with them and see if we can get any more info.
