What's special about these images: again, the harrier plane.

I dont have a clue alltough a harrier is once again a type of dog.

Quote:
And, there are the inverted ones. Error, or clue?

Well there is no reason to invert them I can think of unless they needed to face a certain direction.....hence my line of thinking

Quote:
Does it matter that there are 49?

It means that if I was right about the binary thing (which im not) It would have to been 7 bit decoding (as 49 factors to 7x7 and is not divisable by 8 )...which is the first hint that my line of thinking with respect to it being binary may not turn out to be right.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

If the dog is pointing Left then take the first letter of its name. If it's pointing Right then take the final letter. Doing this gives "locneotechmol?erd?cesilehomicideproto?olrhoetarho". Lots of gibberish (don't be giving me grief on that) but neotech and homicide protocol rho eta rho stood out (in capitals greek "rho eta rho" = "PHP". This led me to http://nru.us/documents/homicide.php

They're homicide incident reports about the mugging in article.gif (notice Mrs. Holman is a "male" hahahaha!)

I've tried searching high and low for the dog pics that I don't have but still can't find them. Maybe if someone else can find them, the gibberish might decode to something meaningful? But I'm thinking that http://nru.us/documents/homicide.php is the intended final result of the solve.

EDITED: for "l" in "protocol" (thanks addlepated), found #45 "tibetan terrier" and for "rho eta rho"

I would like to take credit for this solve, in that I went to bed - thus allowing grumpyboy to find the answer.

You're quite welcome.

s/b Bouvier des Flandres, so there's an S rather than E

On second glance, I think that's a Lakeland Terrier on 40.

Flipped = turn the letter over?

Haven't tried to apply that yet, but it seems logical.

Here's what I've got so far, separated out into words that might make sense:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
LOC NEOTECH MOLE ERDG CSS ILE HOMICIDE PROTOCOL RHOEBARHO

Notice that "RHOEBARHO" can anagram into "Ah, orb hero" or "Oh orb hare". Laughing

homicide typewriter

Looks like the typewriter that made these 'homicide' documents has a few glitches:

lowered u's
raised l's (capital and lowercase)
lowered 9's
raised x's
raised P's

Working on assembling them...

maybe not...

After starting to assemble them, I realized this was not the way to go:
P9LL9luuxUulllluullulluuullu
(I almost started to look up L33T sites, but still!)

Instead, I think the glitches are simply to show that these three documents have all been typed on the same typewriter. The description is the same for all three, but some glaring differences.

Wasn't this a single crime scene? Why the differing dates and addresses? (I've got my own theories...)

SPEC: Could it be worked out to this?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
TOTAL SPEC: LOC NEOTECH MOLE HRDC ?? FILE HOMICIDE PROTOCOL ????? - very interesting!

The dates are date of birth for each and the addresses are home and employer, so those I understand being different for each, but what doesn't add up is the age at time of death. If the ages are correct then they would have all died Jan/1899 not Jan/1897.

alright

Alright - so a little too much haste in posting those - good catch (also Mr. Holman did not live at the NY Stock Exchange - but 129 East 17th Street) - all too logical.

If someone would kindly post the dog pics that remain unidentified, I'd gladly try to find them on the net.

Daniel Holman - DOB 6/28/1854, Age: 46
Kathleen Holman - DOB 7/28/1859, Age: 41
William Davis - DOB 11/8/1876, Age: 23

(Speaking of dates, what month is "Jule"? That's the month that K. Holman was born in Wink I'll assume July for now.)

So they would have died in 1900, some time after Kathleen's birthday 7/28 but before William's birthday 11/8.
