Bungie forums (OT..somewhat) So with recent events, I'm taking it that the best way to truly become immersed in the ARG is to join bungie forums right? Nothing exciting is going to happen to us here

Not a whole lot going on over there either. I was interested to see if anybody has anything to say about that star chart, but I looked around and it seems that noone does.

Everything happens there... AR appears and answers people there, and people there are getting things in the mail... XD I feel like an audience...kinda morally painful

Well, having an account there isn't a bad idea, I do from my Halo 2 days, butright now it is just as dead. All anyone can do right now is wait. I mean today is the fifth, and if all else fails, something has to happen on 7/07/07. XD

The things in the mail wasn't only bungie forum members. Anyone who entered a key got a package... and there were plenty of folks working on that puzzle from Unfiction too.
It's still not a bad idea though.. like you said, that way you can more easily search and be part of any AR stuff first hand, rather than waiting for it to be cross posted.

Bungie in game forum for characters to post

Yep, nothing exciting ever happens here.
I think you mean that Bungie uses their forums as the "in-game" forum as a place where characters can post. In an in-game forum, the characters appear as forum members, post information and interact with players.
You're correct, because characters (actually the PuppetMasters playing them, as the characters are fictional) are not allowed to post on unfiction. PuppetMasters cannot post about their games until the game has ended. PuppetMasters who break that rule, and go ahead and post, violate the Terms of Service. Violating the TOS is a serious offense here. We only have two Golden Rules: respect others and PMs can't post about their games. As I'm sure that Bungie (Hi, frankie!) knows unfiction and respects the TOS, we won't see Adjutant Reflex or his successors posting as a member here.
As for player updates only showing up on bungie.net posts, well, I wouldn't assume that bungie.net would have all the updates. Sometimes we figure things out too.
Still, everyone should play the game where they feel comfortable. The point of unfiction is to support the player experience, so I say sign up for as many forums as you want. I know unfiction will be playing this game intensely. I haven't looked at the Bungie forums but the more forums that play ARGs, the better for the genre.

yeah, and it's generally proven that as soon as something happens in an ARG, or if it's argish, it's posted here... if not reported first here
sometimes too much within one will occur elsewhere and draw people away from here because it's just duplicating efforts, but that's a rare occurrance.
But as you and rose said, it's still safer to register anywhere you like, just in case... you know, cover all the bases But if you find something, you'd better be posting it here, yo!

people on the bungie forums can be really stupid to say the least. on top of that there are at least 9 different threads about the same topic.
