[UPDATE] Flood Containment Control 7/06/07
Maybe Fake

Take this with a grain of salt, but the Args.Bungie.org people are thinking this is related: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bfs/366911515.html

Quote:
Flood Containment Control, an independent environmental clear-up company, is selling its used survey tools.

For sale:
Echolocations
Handheld GPS receivers
Total stations.

All the gear has been used onsite in flood reclamation projects and urban clean up due to natural phenomenon. The gear has been cleaned and recalibrated but is being sold due to an upgrade in standard field kits.

If interested please call the Flood Containment Control home office at

888-778-5672

It's at a lot of Craigslist's
http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=flood+containment+control&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

The Glyph is new, but I still can't decide on this one. Calling the number takes you to a machine...

Figured I'd pass this along.

Edited to add [UPDATE] tag, date, and following general editorial comment not directed just at KLind: People, I know we're all getting the idea of tagging posts, right? Tagging makes it easier for players to know what the post is about...and with updates, when they happened. Happy Bungie Day. ~rose

Could just be a clue saying "be on the lookout for GPS locations" (IE you will need a GPS to play the ARG). Echolocations confuses me, though. Should we be listening for clues? Does this connect with the server 5 ping?

Well the glyph has been used to mark a site as in-game.. this is very interesting. I'm gonna read through the feedback forums, there's a lot of comments.

EDIT: My bad, seems the forums are divided by community, seems to be nothing but people discussing how the site works.

When calling the phone number (888-778-5672), you hear a recorded female voice say the following:

Quote:
Thank you for calling Flood Containment Control.
Our offices are currently closed for the holiday week.
Due to an abnormally high volume of calls, we are currently unable to accept your message.
Please call back at a later date.

Then, before the call disconnects, an generic message plays: "Thank you for calling. Good-bye."

It seems that the number is unique to Flood Containment Control, based on this Google search:
http://www.google.com/search?q=888-778-5672

If this isn't ingame, it's a nice hoax.
