How do you Interact? I've seen all these threads about interaction and I've been wondering, how do you do it? I mean, I know you can message the in-game characters and such, but is there any criteria by which they message back?
I messaged Bishop when I first arrived a few days ago and he's yet to message back. I sent him another one just a minute ago, hoping I'm not being aggravating. I've got a lot more prestige now, if that matters. Otherwise, I just don't know what to say to anybody.
Any tips?

Private messaging is about the only way to do it. Some agents have email addresses available but, for the most part, they are current day players.
Another thing is the PMs won't respond unless the information in your message is strictly in-game. If you did not learn the information through the interface they will not respond.
If you send them a message saying you found the site through unfiction they will ignore it. Unfiction does not exist in their world. They stay well behind the curtain and strictly follow the "this is not a game" credo.
They do monitor all messages exchanged in-game and they also keep an eye on these boards so they will know where your information came from.

Ah. Well, I don't think I've said or asked anything that I shouldn't know. I considered messaging Tara Mercer after reading all the Interaction she's had with people, but I couldn't think of a darn good reason why I'd do so in game. Nothing I've said in my messages to Bishop could be considered OOG.
I suppose they're just really busy because all the people they have to deal with. A new agent is nothing compared to Agent Lex, Agent Hook, V Nightshade, and others like them who know how to be earth-shattering enough to catch the PMs attention
EDIT: Oh, and I should go ahead and point out, I'm AgentJeff in the Interface. I didn't think to my my Unforums name the same as my Interface name...

You could try asking Tara Mercer about red district. We don't know much about it yet. She has been pretty good about responding.

Don't feel bad. There's probably about 5-7 PMs and over 900 accounts. It takes some time for them to get back to us.
And there is always a reason to message a character. Bishop is probably you're handler. You can always try to bug Kropp, Prince, or Foo with questions about Deus City or Defense Corp. Tara and Lisa can be asked about things relating to their own area. And remember, even if you already know certain information, IG you don't know it and it will build a ramport.
Any then again, you can always look at the forums at the site and whine about the other players, LOL

Well, I'm just kinda weirded out, since I messaged Bishop twice, and my first message has been a week ago. I don't know if I said something I shouldn't have, though I don't think I have said anything I shouldn't have known. I messaged Tara Mercer as well, and still nothing. I guess I'm still one of those faceless agents. I'll just keep posting in the news forums until something new comes up.

It's not a "faceless agent" thing--I sent Chris the Florida folio a week ago and still haven't heard back from him. I sent Tara a message telling her Darlene was her mother over the weekend, and still haven't heard back.
From what I've been hearing, only Adam and Lex have been getting back to agents recently--not sure if that's an IG plot thing or what.
I'm equally baffled on this...best I can guess is they're still trying to figure out how to set up that "tiered agent" thing they mentioned earlier.

FLORIDA folio. Going to Chris.
The NM folio was someone else *cough*APCFreak*cough*
If Chris doesn't get back to me by Saturday I'm going to send it to Adam...probably going to send it to Adam as well anyway, I just thought I'd give Chris first access since I told him I'd do so if I ever got one.

I've had a few messages outstanding with a few characters for a while now too, not as important as NG's, but outstanding a little longer.
On the topic of how they are going to set up this "tiered agent" thing, I'm also eager to see how this is gonna work. A number of possibilities spring to mind, not all my own by the way, a few have contributed to this list, and I am sorry if I have forgotten to mention any that have been discussed, but feel free to add it yourself or shout at me and I'll add them in.
1) A few/lot more characters/PM's are going to be introduced, but if volume is an issue, then I doubt that this will help much as agents will possibly send one message to each character, and that would require new resource, and increase the total number of messages needing replies.
2) Getting agents to sort messages into similar batches. ie. Who/What is XYZ. That would enable the actual Handler/character to "carbon copy" one reply to a number of people with confidence it answered the question asked.
3) Agents being assigned speciality tasks or areas of knowledge - ie. ask Agent "Jack Bauer" about "Whispering or Shouting" but not about talking in a "normal talking voice"!!!
4) Data bombs sent to agents, giving the answers to the low level FAQ's, and a small group assigned to each, with unanswerable q's being referred up the chain.
Just a few suggestions to start with, perhaps you think there's a better idea, or perhaps you favour one of the above.
Something for us to chat about whilst we are waiting for our replies!!!

I don't know if I was the first to think of it, or if the PMs already had it in mind, but I suggested "special agents" for reasons 3 and 4 pretty much. I mean, Brum, aren't you in with Lisa or something? So I don't see why you wouldn't be the one that everyone should talk to first. You could have certain (not all) information that would be passed out or could be asked about. This way, agents that have been around for awhile and have been loyal to the game could be rewarded with certain bits and pieces of information first. New agents would be integrated easier. And the PMs would have more free time available to work on forwarding the story (which is annoyingly at a standstill).
They also said that they were going to pretty much "weed out" the inactive accounts. I'd like to see how many we have left afterwards.

I've asked quite a few questions and was getting replies very quickly from Lisa, which corresponded with the launch of Blue District and my Karmic Shift to Blue, and posted all the interaction back and forth on that thread.
With that said, I have had another message sent to Lisa, in for approximately a week now, and not heard anything back, so the huge number of messages must be affecting all the IG characters.
I can see pro's and con's with all of the ideas, but I probably favour the 3rd or 4th one's too, but then the difficult part is what do they delegate?

Probably the basic answers to questions that we already know the answers for that the noobs may not. Anything else would be at the PMs decision and whatever would continue the story.
And I have a message out to Bishop just to confirm my TA 3 statis. (Which is where you have to be to be "special" LOL) It's been out there for awhile.
And I was pretty sure you were the "Blue District" player, but I wanted to make sure I hadn't read into everything too far. I'm not that crazy LOL

How can you say that? They've just reintroduced New New Coke! Can anything be more exciting than that?
