I'm hearing, "...isn't necessary. Neither is the .doc download. This isn't going to be a public resource."

Agreed, this isn't going to be a public resource. Uh, pass on the document number so I can delete it.

Speaker 1:
There's no way to tell yet, Jane's looking at the records to find out how many closed sites there are, but as for active cleanup somewhere around three, four thousand.
Look here it is, ah hold on 402k07002. In terms of numbers most of these are patch *something*.

Speaker 2:
With a few exceptions, Site 34...

Ok, still can't figure out whats being said after "In terms of numbers"

Anyone have any ideas?

To my ears, sounds like that sentence was deliberatly garbled a bit. Possiblities:
"In terms of numbers, most of these are past ??? stage."

"In terms of numbers, most of these are past ??? age."

"In terms of numbers, most of these are patched ???? age."

Here's the best transcription I could come up with from redct's recording:

[Echoing]
Woman: "Welcome to the <?> Conferencing Center. Please enter your PIN followed by..."
[4 numbers being entered on keypad]
Woman: "Password accepted. Now accessing <?> online number 16180, participant 12...[/echoing]

Man 1: "...is necessary, and neither is the .doc download."
Man 2: "I agree. This isn't going to be a public resource. Uhh, pass on the document number so I can delete it."

[long pause]

Man 1: "Eh, there's no way to tell yet. <Jenny's/Jim is> looking into the records to find out how many <closed> sites there are, but as for active cleanup. Somewhere around three, four thousand.

Here it is. Uhh, hold on. 4O2K07002. And in terms of numbers, most of these are past the <DBU> stage.

Man 2: "With a few exceptions: Site 34..."

Operator: "Thank you for calling. Goodbye"

Sounds like it could be Sterma, Stroma, anything similar. Nothing definitive enough to quote just yet. We're gonna need some major audiophiles to try and remove the echo if that's possible so we can get a better listen.

I opened up my recording in Audacity (nice free audio editor) and slowed it down a lot.

Then I used its "DTMF Tone Generator" (DTMF is a fancy name for touch tone) to create some touch tones. Then, I just let it play all of the tones (0-9, #, *) and matched them.

SplinterCellMGS: Who says that that's the password for this voicemail box? It's for a conferencing center, not a voicemail box. But, don't take my word for the numbers... I make errors Smile

DiscipleN2k: I think I could hear the woman say "...ternal Conferencing Center". External/internal, maybe?

It does sound like it could be the end of a word, since the recording starts right at that point. What gets me, though, is that if it's the end of a word, we should be able to hear the beginning of that word in the echo. It's quite possible that it's there and I just can't hear it with the words overlapping like they are (unfortunately, I don't really hear much of anything of there's much background noise). Are you able to catch any more of the word in the echo when you listen?

Alot of conference bridging is done by and outside company.

But I'd put money on the fact that Microsoft probably has there own.

if you listen to the password thats echoed, you can hear the tones, we all know this. but based on these tones we cant get specific numbers, because the entire left column of numbers has the same sound, and so does the right. the password alternates columns: left right left right. we need to find a significant number that has been already given to us that follows these guidelines.

left column numbers: 1,4,7,*
right column:3,6,9,#
(middle column: 2,5,8,0)

the ending number is also pound, or so it says it should be, so that narrows the numbers we need to know down to only 3.
