And I was also refering to that. It's a gamejack attempt. And continuing to post links to it is just feeding tiny little egos.

So this looks like a great thread to post a fake blog and get lots of hits. Honestly. Let's all go do one! Most of us could probably do a more convincing one too!

(I personally will wait until there's a confirmed IN-GAME (i.e. posted by a character on a known in-game site) source.)

Be more skeptical.

BTW, nothing in common with 1-18-08.
Except the fact both are Paramount Pictures IP

All those IPs dont belong to Paramount. To Paramount belong just cloverfieldmovie.com and 1-18-08.com, ethanhaaswasright.com belongs to some Media Temple company (its both hosting even holder of IP). So i think for now is wise to forget about their connection.
You're confusing your abbriviations here. I speak of IP as "intellectual property", not "internet protocol". Both intellectual properties (EHWR and 1-18-0Cool are claimed by Paramount. Its clear that the DNS name of EHWR.com was registered under a dummy name and address.

So, has anyone else noticed that Van Mantra's postal address (as given in the domain record) was previously used in 2006 by a Tom McLaughlin on his wedding blog, and that said Tom McLaughlin in turn works for a company making a tabletop RPG about Earth as "the battleground for otherworldly creatures of incredible power as they wage an ancient war"?

And the later post indicating that sometime after I email the guy from the RPG gaming company asking why in 2006 he used the same address currently being used by Van Mantra, that 2006 wedding blog was deleted.

It raises the possibility that the Ethan Haas mythos is promotion for this forthcoming RPG, and not for Cloverfield.

yes, this was noticed. What conclusions can we draw from that? Perhaps this Tom person is a web admin, had to create a fake address for this new project he's working on, and decided to use an address he used for an entirely unrelated project he worked on a year ago. Tom is not in-game, and I'm sure he's also working on several other unrelated projects, both professionally and personally.

Well, that "unrelated project" would appear to have been his own wedding. And it is not a "fake" address, in the sense that it (1) comes up on Google Maps and (2) is confirmed by USPS as a valid delivery point for mail.

None of which means anything whatsoever in terms of what the EHWR game is promoting, except in the sense that the subject matter of the RPG is somewhat similar to the rhetoric being bandied about by Van Mantra and the Mezin, which is why I suspect that EHWR is promotion for Mind Storm Labs' game and not for something else.

Possibly, but the story behind this new game and the the EHWR are very similar. Take this quote from http://www.mindstormlabs.com/products.html:

Quote:
Our planet is about to become the battleground for otherworldly creatures of incredible power as they wage an ancient war. The End of Times seems to have arrived. Are angels and demons walking among us, or is there a larger chain of events unfolding?

However, why Paramount would want the videos in EHWR removed from yourube is... interesting to say the least. I just can't shake that....

EDIT: Sorry, simulpost Embarassed

Well that's the weird part, the Paramount bit, but it still could just be a coincidence. Maybe (if EHWR is PR for the RPG) they've already bought the rights to eventually make a movie out of the RPG and so they are protecting their stake in that.

Perhaps, that does make sense, but both of these claims are really only speculation.... It could go either way Sad I hate long waits....

Wrong. In this case mezin's name came out before it was later mentioned by van in the phone call. So, that blog is legit

Not only mentioned by Van. The Mezin themselves were on Van's outgoing message.

To make things more complicated, Van Mantra's address just changed.

Quote:
Registrant:
Van Mantra
147 Skiff Pond Drive
Pole Hill, NB E7P 2E9
ca

FWIW, more consistent now with the RPG company, which is based in Canada.
