I've got a chainsaw handy, let's give it a shot. Very Happy

Seriously, though, I also think they're seperate people, it's just that the angle of their head tilt is nearly identical, and the cut is in the right place. It's a nice coincidence, but I don't think much more.

I know people were talking about the 2004 ACE think on the rooftop wall. It's formatted like, and appears to be a graffiti tag. Probably inconsequential, but never say never.

Speaking of which....I saw this earlier tonight....

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000881/

Get a load of what Michael Bay has in store for us...namely the top one but the top 4 just reek guilt by association Very Happy

And for what it's worth, items 2 and 4 may well be the "link" connecting to the whole Ethan thing....that fits far easier into that story than the 1-18 ever has, except for the release date being 2010 ;-p On a cooler note, Whitley Strieber!!! Sounds like Communion and the rest which would be a kickin movie.

EDIT: While I was there, I checked out what Spielberg has been up to and I just have to say my 8y/o dinosaur hound will be squealing with delight at JP 4....he's memorized all of the JPs and runs around acting them out constantly, he LOVES dinosaurs. Too bad I can't get him in JP4, he'd be in dino heaven.

I see T2 on the plate as well, so here we go....

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000229

I'll be waiting on Interstellar, I can imagine that one will rule.

I wanted Tremors 5 to be about Michael J. Fox.

Okay, I am sooo going to Hell.

tinag: If Michael Bay ruins The Birds, one of my all-time favorite movies, which I know he will, I'm gonna have to do us all a favor and kill him.

I've been doing some thinking on this topic... I definitely like the idea of a Cthulhu movie, so that's what I want to put my money on... That said, I did some digging after I saw the trailer. I found this information out to support the Cthulhu theory:

All copyrights and patents have always had a finite term, though the terms for copyrights and patents differ. When terms expire, the work or invention is released into public domain. In most countries, patents expire 20 years after they are filed. A trademark registration may be renewed and remain in force indefinitely provided the trademark is used, but could otherwise become generic.

Wikipedia wrote:
Copyrights are more complex than patents; generally, in current law, the copyright in a published work expires in all countries when any of the following conditions are satisfied (except Colombia, Côte d'Ivoire, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Samoa, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, on all these countries are fair use):[2]

* The work was created and first published before January 1, 1923, or at least 95 years before January 1 of the current year, whichever is later;
* The last surviving author died at least 70 years before January 1 of the current year;
* No Berne Convention signatory has passed a perpetual copyright on the work; and
* Neither the United States nor the European Union has passed a copyright term extension since these conditions were last updated. (This must be a condition because the exact numbers in the other conditions depend on the state of the law at any given moment.)

The relevant part is bolded.

I think this is important, because H.P. Lovecraft died in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1937, effectively bringing Cthulhu into Public Domain as of January 1st, either of 2007, or 2008, depending on how you interpret what's written. That said, this project was greenlighted in February of 2007. So, the keep this hush-hush until release, a few weeks into 08. This keeps their hands clean of any risk of copyright infringement.

Erm, if the rights don't expire until '08, keeping a movie "hush hush" would be irrelevant from a legal standpoint. They'd still be infringing just by filming it at all.

So, are you all aware that a chtulhu movie website exists, with an entirely different trailer?

http://www.cthulhuthemovie.com/

1-18-08 = NOT CTHULHU

Q.

I don't remember if this got brought up before, and if so, it's lost in the post surge and confusion, but regarding the photos on 1-18, has anyone (else?) done the zoom in part enlarging the party pic? I did that a bit ago and while it's blurry, it looks like all sorts of numbers are in the banner. I know it kinda looks that way in regular view but moreso on zoom in. I did it originally just to see if maybe there might be something in the reflections of the eyes on pic 1. Or even more detail to the anomaly in the middle...

If this has come up, what did you find? I saw the gold 2 in the normal view but see several others on enlarged.

The only thing I see at face value is the timestamps moving backward showing some series of events between both pictures and the trailer.

Other than that, I'm stumped as to why the first pic is followed by the next one, what connection they have, if any....or if there's something in them we should look at.

I wish they'd update it soon....either give a little more to it to get a direction or just add something else to make it feel like it's moving at all.

What about countdown?

Hmm, what if it all is a just a some sort of countdown? When u rotate two chicks image upside down u will see at "demons head" place a number 3. On second one posted with party u clearly see small 2. So my guess is, that on next one that will be somewhere hidden number 1 (and possibly on next one will be zero and after that site get launched or it get launched right after third image). Its simple, its clear (no need to some curious enlargement of images) and its make sense for rotating images - without it is number three invisible and probably next one will be visible under different angle too. But i know u will find this too way simple to take this in account :D . SO enjoy your theories, but...

This it my two cents

IMO its simple - they show things in reverse order. So we figure out whats happen after we see all images (or probable after we see last one of series? dunno). Remember: "The Beginning is the end"! Wink

But its just (another) my two cents Laughing

I really doubt the found numbers in the pictures are plants rather than coincidences.

I also think the idea that those 2 girls being the same person is silly!
They do make entertaining paperdolls though:

'The last surviving author', not 'the original author'. Stephen King is the last surviving mythos (as in that specific one) author, afaik, with his "Crouch End" story.

On the topic of King, way off the topic of the thread (but it's just a throwaway question anyway), did anyone notice "The Talisman" (which is specifically said to be based on King and Straub's book) in Spielberg's upcoming-movies portfolio on IMDb?

Has anyone else noticed that the pictures tick at different speeds? One ticks roughly every 5.1 seconds, the other every 5.7 seconds. Could that mean something? Could someone who understands action script please check this one out and give us the correct times? (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=346727)
