Hey, what about those perforated edge stickers that are on the outside? Mine says "B 44444", AD's says "S 11111" etc., and the numbers are multicolored. At first I thought it might have been off a stamp, but I'm not sure - anyone know what they are?

My sticker is a barcode. One edge has P111 1 in colors. The number under the barcode is 450600.

My gut feeling seems to be on target thus far... I'm willing to bet that the missing letters are F, E, G, G, in that order...

I have a question for those of you who received a package and have the colorful sticker. Are the multicolored bars (i.e. not the solid yellow, brown, green, etc ones) all the same or are some the same and some not? From greywolf's photo which shows the sticker the best, it appears they are different but don't know if that's just an effect of the lighting under which the pic was taken...
(I don't suppose anyone of you have a scanner and can provide a high resolution scan?)

I wouldn't mind a bit more info on the bars: has it been printed on home printer or professional; is it glossy or normal paper; can any one do a higher quality pic, in terms of resolution and less artifacts.
most of this probably wont help a solve but it would make me happy

I was wondering about the bars too - and also the numbers that have been mentioned (ie B 44444 etc). Just spec, but could these numbers relate to the coloured bars? For example, if there were 6 digits rather than 5 it could be a hex representation of an RGB value - I can't think of any way off the top of my head of representing colour with 5 digits, but it's a possibility. Probably barking up the wrong tree entirely, but just thought I'd throw it out there...

The skipped 1 is actually a yellow 1. I think that the different colors may be from the printer. I"m not sure but I think they're just there to cover up the "free take one" underneath. I'll check my stamp stock and see if they all have those barcodes on them and let you know in a bit.

Ah OK. Thanks greywolf. Then I can safely assume that the multicolored bars are in fact different and not a lighting effect.

Gb, I don't have a scanner, but I will take a higher resolution picture of the sticker and post it in a bit.
Another thing I noticed, if these are indeed from Reggie. We keep seeing repeats of 9's. AOL 9, two sets of 9 bars in reggies post, so far 9 cd's have been received, and he posted to his blog at 9:00pm. Any ideas??

Mine is the S1111.
I relooked at the outside package pictures. In all cases the stamps were used to cover up the "FREE TAKE ONE" dot on the AOL CD package. These are edge of the stamp paper pieces. I vote for red herring.
The key is the stripped colored bars on the inside. And I'm starting to agree with Rasputin that it may turn out to be FROMREGGIE.
Let's go back to look at THANATOS and try that colored bar again.
The colored bar paper appears to me to be card stock, maybe laser printer?
/me votes we put this into Acheron Puzzles
Again, this reminds me of the JMX puzzle with all the different colored boxes; each color = letter.

I got a CD too! Just noticed it in the pile of mail. Pics posted below.
edit: I was kinda in a hurry when I originally posted this. In case you can't see it in the pic, the pink sticker has F 1 on it. my camera is crap indoors.
What perforated edges are you guys talking about (B1111 or whatever)?

I vote for it being moved to Acheron Puzzles as well, especially since there's what looks like a good PM nudge discussed here .
