[INFO] FCC (888-778-5672) - 3rd recording (7/9/07)
info so far

This thread is a continuation from this thread which was getting quite convoluted with info. Feel free to read over that thread if you wish to get caught up.
To start, here is a summary of that thread and what's known so far regarding this phone number. Discuss!

* Flood containment control is text on the Slide_Ref070107 found in Server 05.

* A number of ads for a company called Flood Containment Control were found on 7/06/07

* The ads give the toll free number: 888-778-5672

* When called the number initially had a "call back message."

* The message has updated three times, giving parts of a conference call.

Possible complete convo:

Quote:
Man 1: ...is necessary, and neither is the doc download.
Man 2: I agree. This isn't going to be a public resource. Uh, pass on the document number so I can delete it
Man 3 (Bill?): So where does that put us in terms of the numbers then?
Man 1: There's no way to tell yet, Jimmy's looking into the records to find out how many closed sites there are, but as for active clean up, somewhere around 3-4 thousand.
Female 1: Roughly
Man 1: Oh here it is. Uh, Hold on. 402-K-07-002 and in terms of numbers most of these are past the PPE stage.
Female 1: And out of that 4000 or so we are expecting to close shop on the bulk by the end of the month.
Man 2: With a few exceptions: site 34, site 4, 107, and 37. The center usually goes in before we do, that's been my experience.
Man 1: By the time we have the site clean, they've moved on to more pressing needs. After all, we've had some extremely unpredictable seasons lately.
3rd participant
Man 2: No need, their rep is available to us any time we need her.
3rd participant
Man 1: On everything we still need to look into
3rd participant
Man 2: Well we're working on it. For the moment we're simply hiding the data behind a false menu item.
Man 1: Security will be updated before the next system approaches
3rd participant
Man 2: Okay, great. Bye Bill
Man 1: Thanks

For discussion:
* 402-K-07-002 - an EPA instructional picture booklet titled "Flood Cleanup and the Air in Your Home" (link)
* Sites 34, 4, 107, 37 - unknown significance
* false menu item - leads to hidden data?

First off, thank you rose for putting all this together (can someone do it with audio?? just out of curiosity)... and second of all, when the woman says roughly, doesn't it sound like a robot? Not saying it is, or that it means anything, I just think it does.

Edit: Also, I think the woman's name is Jen. One of the first participants says, "Jen is working on the numbers" right before she replies, rougly. Listen to it on redct's overlay linked in the post below me.

Edit: Okay listening to it again, it is either "Jamie", or "Jim is"... but I want to say it's a woman's name, because the girl responds "roughly" immediately after.....

Any more leads on where this data is that is hidden behind a menu item?

I'll repost my audio.

From old thread:
Quote:
At the beginning, there's a bit of overlap "Welcome to ..., Please enter your pin... participant ... etc" but besides that, everything fits together perfectly, with the exception of the second recording. I have a feeling those are coming later, but I still put it on the end (after a few seconds silence).

I cleaned up the audio a bit and split the different recordings into left and right ears. The first recording in the left, second in the right. Makes for easier listening, at least for me.

That's the one that's getting me... it seems like Flood Containment Control should have a server/website for them to be able to hide it. They don't have any (currently) visible connection to the Halo3.com site or SOTA, so why should it be on one of those websites?

The only thing I can think of is a phone menu, and we don't have any info abut the password for that, yet.

thats why we need to crack the Message pin number. Which [SPEC] is the 4 digit number we are hearing when he logs into the conferance call. Hell maybe we are not even listening to a live conferance call. but of a taped converstation, or a message. which generaly uses a 4 digit password.

i cant do it at work but try to match the tones of th enumbers he is entering for his pin

use this

http://www.dsptutor.freeuk.com/dtmf/ToneGenerator.html

i hope something comes of this.

I'd also recommend trying Audacity (get their version 1.33 beta). It has a DTMF tone generator - you can line up the audio, too.

I don't think the false menu is to do with the phone, since it seems like Strema is a seperate conference call group - not something the FCC would have control over. I reckon we'll get a site from the mysterious 14 second gap.

PPE?

A yahoo search for PPE yielded this :
http://www.publichealth.va.gov/infectiondontpassiton/ppe.htm

it would make the sites physical , not websites if relevant.

It's been discussed numerous times that cracking the voicemail is not the route we should be taking.
The pin we hear being inputted is to join the conference call. What we are listening to is an archived recording of this call.
Finding the PIN for voicemail would be brute forcing and could ruin this entire segment of the storyline.
I think the last update (which should be coming to fill in the rest of the conversation gaps) will be the one which leads us where we need to go.

Agreed. I think tomorrow's message will give us details on where to find this "false menu item". And as to using the PIN to get into the voicemail, its definitely out of game. It was for ILB, and it will be for this.
